Abstract

Background: One of the important problems in surgery is postoperative wound infection. SSI or surgical wound infection is a condition that often occurs after surgery. Objective: This study aims to determine the application of wound care in patients with postoperative cesarean section (SC) wound infections. Method: This case study uses a nursing process approach that includes assessment, determination of nursing diagnoses, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Nursing interventions are focused on post-cesarean section patients with postoperative wound infection problems. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and patient medical records. Results: After the implementation of Wound Care interventions was carried out consistently for 5 days, with details of 2 days of assessment and 3 days of implementation and evaluation, the problems in both patients could be resolved as indicated by reduced pus coming out of the postoperative wound. Conclusion: The application of wound care as part of nursing interventions has been proven effective in post-cesarean section patients who experience postoperative wound infection problems. Suggestion: The application of wound care can reduce wound infections in patients with post-cesarean section wound infections. Therefore, it is recommended to perform wound care on post-cesarean section patients who experience wound infection
