Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of business strategy on competitive advantage with management control systems as a mediating variable. The population in this research consists of food sector MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) in Serang City, based on predetermined criteria. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling, resulting in a total of 42 MSMEs. This research is a quantitative study using primary data collected from food MSME actors in Serang City. The method used to test the hypotheses in this study is Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results show that the business strategy has a positive and significant effect on competitive advantage, the business strategy has a positive effect on management control systems, management control systems has a positive and significant effect on competitive advantage, and the business strategy has a positive and significant effect on competitive advantage with management control systems as a mediating variable.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh strategi bisnis terhadap keunggulan bersaing dengan sistem pengendalian manajemen sebagai variabel mediasi (studi empiris pada UMKM yang tersertifikasi halal di Kota Serang). Populasi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah UMKM sektor makanan yang ada di Kota Serang dengan kriteria yang telah ditentukan. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan yaitu purposive sampling method dan dan diperoleh sebanyak 42 UMKM. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan data primer yang diperoleh dari para pelaku UMKM makanan di Kota Serang. Metode yang digunakan untuk menguji hipotesis dalam penelitian ini adalah Patrial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi bisnis berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap keunggulan bersaing, strategi bisnis berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap sistem pengendalian manajemen, sistem pengendalian manajemen berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap keunggulan bersaing, dan strategi bisnis berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap keunggulan bersaing dengan sistem pengendalian manajemen sebagai variabel mediasi.
