Abstract
The increasing number of students, especially those who use private vehicles and public transportation, contributes to the increasing density and traffic congestion. One of the efforts to overcome these transportation problems is to understand the characteristics of students in traveling, especially in choosing the mode of transportation used. This study aims to identify the characteristics of UNTIRTA Pakupatan students in choosing modes of transportation based on attributes such as travel costs (X1), travel time (X2), service convenience (X3), and safety and security aspects (X4), with the Stated Preference method approach and statistical analysis using SPSS version 29. Based on the survey results of respondent characteristics, it is known that 60% of respondents are male, with the majority being in the age range of 21-23 years as much as 58%. As many as 40% of respondents travel to campus within 10-20 minutes, and the most frequently used mode of transportation is motorcycle with a percentage of 51%. The most influential factor in choosing a mode of transportation is travel time. Probability based on the travel fare attribute (X1), 51% of students tend to choose private vehicles, while 49% choose public transportation. For the travel time attribute (X2), 52.1% chose private vehicles and 47.9% chose public transportation. Meanwhile, in terms of convenience (X3), 46.6% of students choose private vehicles and 47.9% choose public transportation.
