Abstract

This research was motivated by field observations, which revealed several issues: 54% of students scored below the minimum passing grade, the learning media used were less engaging, and the use of Android smartphones had not been optimized in the learning process. The objectives of this study are: (1) to develop Android-based learning multimedia for the Electrical Installation subject at Pasundan 2 Vocational High School, Serang City; and (2) to assess the feasibility of Android-based multimedia for the same subject. This research is a type of development research (Research and Development) based on the ASSURE model, which consists of: (1) Analyze learner characteristics; (2) State performance objectives; (3) Select methods, media, and materials; (4) Utilize materials; (5) Require learner participation; (6) Evaluate and revise. The research subjects include three media experts, three material experts, three design experts, and users. The instruments used include feasibility assessment sheets by material experts, media experts, design experts, and users. Based on the testing results, the Android-based multimedia is highly valid and feasible for use. This conclusion is supported by validation tests indicating the product's suitability. The results from three assessment domains show that students' learning outcomes improved. Thus, this Android-based multimedia is feasible and can be utilized as a learning medium for electrical installation in Grade XI of vocational high schools.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi berdasarkan hasil observasi di lapangan diantaranya, hasil belajar peserta didik yang memperoleh nilai di bawah KKM sebesar 54%, media pembelajaran yang digunakan masih menggunakan media pembelajaran yang kurang menarik dan penggunaan smartphone android belum dimaksimalkan dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengembangkan multimedia pembelajaran berbasis android yang akan digunakan dalam mata pelajaran Instalasi Tenaga Listrik di SMK Pasundan 2 Kota Serang; (2) mengetahui kelayakan multimedia berbasis android pada mata pelajaran Instalasi Tenaga Listrik di SMK Pasundan 2 Kota Serang. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian pengembangan (Research and Development) dengan mengacu pada model ASSURE yaitu: (1) Analyze learner characteristics; (2) State performance objectives; (3) Select methods, media and materials; (4) Utilize materials; (5) Require learner participation; (6) Evaluate and revise. Subjek penelitian ini meliputi 3 ahli media, 3 ahli materi, 3 ahli desain dan pengguna. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi lembar penilaian kelayakan oleh ahli materi, lembar penilaian kelayakan oleh ahli media, lembar penilaian kelayakan oleh ahli desain, lembar penilaian kelayakan oleh pengguna. Berdasarkan hasil uji coba multimedia berbasis android ini sangat valid dan layak untuk digunakan. Hal ini dapat diketahui dari hasil uji validasi ahli yang menunjukan bahwa produk ini layak. Hasil uji 3 ranah menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar peserta didik meningkat. Dengan demikian, multimedia berbasis android ini layak dan dapat digunakan sebagai salah satu media pembelajaran instalasi tenaga listrik di kelas XI sekolah menengah kejuruan.
