Abstract
Background: Bleeding is still a major problem in obstetrics and is a major maternal mortality in both developed and developing countries. Postpartum hemorrhage is a state of blood loss of more than 500 ml after vaginal delivery that will result in hypovolemic shock. The cause of hypovolemic shock is due to heavy bleeding. The Purpose: This study aims to administer intravenous fluids with bleeding to postpartum mothers to prevent hypovolemic shock at dr. Drajat Prawiranegara hospital. The Method: This research was conducted by a descriptive method in the form of a case study with a nursing care approach. The Result: There was a significant difference in the cause of bleeding in both patients, the cause of bleeding in the first patient due to Placenta Rest and Portio Tear. Meanwhile, the cause of bleeding in the second patient was due to Placental Retention. The two patients have not experienced bleeding. The Conclusion: The act of administering intravenous fluids is one of the therapies that greatly determines the success of the treatment of postpartum maternal bleeding to prevent hypovolemic shock.
