Abstract

Pembakaran adalah oksidasi cepat bahan bakar disertai dengan produksi panas, atau panas dan cahaya. Seperti yang kita ketahui saat ini bahan bakar fosil memiliki persedian yang semakin lama semakin menipis, maka dari itu dibutuhkan bahan bakar alternatif yaitu bahan bakar non fosil. Dalam hal ini pembakaran dilakukan untuk mengetahui secara spesifik karakteristik bahan bakar non fosil cootonseed oil dimana eksperimen dilakukan dengan menggunakan Rotary oil burner. Data-data yang diambil adalah data temperatur, panjang api dan warna api dari kedua bahan bakar tersebut. Dan dari hasil pengujian didapat hasil bahwa panjang api solar lebih tinggi daripada panjang api minyak biji kapas, temperatur solar lebih tinggi dari minyak biji kapas dan warna api solar lebih merah terang dibanding minyak biji kapas.

Additional Information: Combustion is the rapid oxidation of fuel accompanied by the production of heat, or heat and light. As we know it today has a supply of fossil fuels are becoming increasingly depleted, and therefore needed an alternative fuelthat is non-fossil fuels. In this case combustion was conducted to determine the specific characteristics of non-fossil fuel oil cootonseed where experiments were conducted using an oil burner Rotary. The data is taken from the temperature data, the color of fire and flame length of two fuels. And the results obtained from the test results that the length of the solar fire flames higher than the longer cottonseed oil, diesel fuel temperature is higher than cottonseed oil and diesel fuel more fire red color brighter than cottonseed oil.
