Abstract

This study aims to analyze the industrial water tariff structure implemented by PT Krakatau Tirta Industri (PT KTI) and compare it with similar water companies in Banten Province using the benchmarking method, in order to evaluate tariff competitiveness from a marketing strategy perspective. A descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach was employed, using primary data from observations and interviews and secondary data from company documents and literature. The findings show that PT KTI applies a flat tariff based on the full cost recovery approach, which is nominally competitive compared to competitors like PERUMDAM and PITS. However, this pricing approach does not fully reflect a value-based pricing strategy, indicating opportunities for marketing-driven value creation. This research contributes to a better understanding of pricing practices in the industrial water sector and encourages companies to adopt adaptive, customer-perceived-value-based pricing strategies.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis struktur tarif air industri yang diterapkan oleh PT Krakatau Tirta Industri (PT KTI) dan membandingkannya dengan tarif perusahaan air sejenis di Provinsi Banten melalui metode benchmarking, guna mengevaluasi daya saing tarif dari perspektif strategi pemasaran. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus, mengandalkan data primer dari observasi dan wawancara serta data sekunder dari dokumen dan literatur perusahaan. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa PT KTI menetapkan tarif dengan pendekatan full cost recovery dan sistem tarif tetap (flat), yang secara nominal kompetitif dibandingkan pesaing seperti PERUMDAM dan PITS. Namun, pendekatan tarif tersebut belum sepenuhnya mencerminkan value-based pricing, sehingga potensi penciptaan nilai melalui strategi pemasaran masih bisa ditingkatkan. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi terhadap pemahaman praktik penetapan harga di sektor air industri serta mendorong perusahaan untuk mengembangkan strategi harga yang adaptif dan berbasis pada persepsi nilai pelanggan.
