Abstract

This study aims to determine how the pop-up book learning media is developed to improve understanding of gender issues among students with intellectual disabilities, to validate the pop-up book learning media, and to determine the effectiveness of using pop-up book learning media in improving understanding of gender issues among students with intellectual disabilities. The method used in this study was the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) with research subjects consisting of four students with intellectual disabilities who did not fully understand gender material, five teachers, and orthopedagogical experts. The stages carried out were analyzing the factual conditions, designing learning media, and validating the media. After validation, an effectiveness test was conducted using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The data obtained from the media expert validation test showed a percentage of 90%, while the data obtained from the subject matter expert validation test showed a percentage of 85.7%. The data obtained from the teacher practitioner expert validation test showed a percentage of 87.5%. Based on these results, the learning media was categorized as “Very Suitable.” The validation results stated that the media was suitable for use. The effectiveness test showed an increase in understanding after using the media. Based on the Wilcoxon test, a T count of 10 and a T table of 0 were obtained, so H₀ was rejected. This means that there was a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores. The pop-up book media proved to have a positive effect on the understanding of students with intellectual disabilities regarding gender issues, and it can be concluded that pop-up book learning media can improve the understanding of gender issues among students with intellectual disabilities at SKh Korpri Pandeglang.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana proses pengembangan media pembelajaran pop-up book yang digunakan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman mengenai materi gender pada siswa tunagrahita, mengetahui validasi media pembelajaran pop-up book, serta mengetahui efektifitas penggunaan media pembelajaran pop-up book dalam meningkatkan pemahaman mengenai materi gender pada siswa tunagrahita. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan menggunakan model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Develompment, Implementation, Evlauation) dengan subjek penelitian terdiri dari empat siswa tunagrahita yang belum memahami materi gender secara menyeluruh, lima orang guru dan ahli ortopedagogik. Tahapan yang dilakukan adalah dengan melakukan analisis kondisi faktual, perancangan media pembelajaran dan validasi media. Kemudian setelah divalidasi dilakukan uji efektivitas dengan desain one group pretest-posttest. Perolehan data validasi oleh ahli media memperoleh presentase 90% dan perolehan data validasi ahli materi memperlohen skor presentase 85,7%, serta ahli perolehan skor validasi oleh ahli praktisi guru memperoleh 87,5%. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, media pembelajaran memperoleh kategori “Sangat Layak”. Hasil validasi menyatakan bahwa media layak untuk digunakan. Uji efektivitas menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman setelah penggunaan media. Berdasarkan uji Wilcoxon, diperoleh T hitung sebesar 10 dan T tabel sebesar 0, sehingga H₀ ditolak. Artinya, terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara skor pre-test dan post-test. Media pop-up book terbukti memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap pemahaman siswa tunagrahita mengenai materi gender dan dapat disimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran pop-up book dapat meningkatkan pemahaman materi gender pada siswa tunagrahita di SKh Korpri Pandeglang.
