Abstract
This research was aimed to determine the effect of physical scarification and concentration of sulfuric acid (H2SO4) on germination of sugar apple seeds (Annona squamosa L.). The research was conducted at the Greenhouse of Puri Nawala Permai Complex, Bekasi, Jawa Barat from October until November 2023. This research used a Randomized Completely Design (RCD) with two factors. The first factor, was physical scarification treatment (S), with 3 levels, namely withoutscarification (S0), cutting of seed tips (S1), and sanding of the seed tips (S2). The second factor, was concentration of sulfuric acid (H2SO4) treatment (K), with 3 levels, namely H2SO4 concentration 10% (K1), H2SO4 concentration 20% (K2), and H2SO4 concentration 30% (K3). The combination of the two factors was repeated three times, so that 27 experimental units are obtained. The result showed that the scarification treatment with sanding of seed tips gave the best effect on the parameters of germination age (15,44 days), power of germination (87,78%), maximum growth potential (87,78%), normal germination (82,22%), and seed did not grow (12,22%). The sulfuric acid (H2SO4) concentration 30% gave the best effect on the parameters of germination age (15,00 days), power of germination (90,00%), maximum growth potential (90,00%), normal germination (84,44%), and seed did not grow (10,00%). There was no interaction between the physical scarification and concentration of sulfuric acid (H2SO4) treatment for all parameters of observed.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian skarifikasi fisik dan konsentrasi larutan asam sulfat (H2SO4) terhadap perkecambahan benih srikaya. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Komplek Puri Nawala Permai, Bekasi, Jawa Barat dari bulan Oktober sampai dengan November 2023. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dua faktor, faktor pertama yaitu perlakuan skarifikasi fisik (S), yang terdiri dari 3 taraf yaitu tidak dilakukan skarifikasi (S0), pengguntingan pada ujung benih (S1), dan pengamplasan pada ujung benih (S2). Faktor kedua, yaitu konsentrasi larutan asam sulfat (H2SO4) (Z), yang terdiri dari 3 taraf, yaitu perendaman larutan H2SO4 dengan konsentrasi 10% (K1), larutan H2SO4 dengan konsentrasi 20% (K2), dan larutan H2SO4 dengan konsentrasi 30% (K3). Dari dua faktor tersebut terdapat 9 kombinasi perlakuan dan masing-masing perlakuan dilakukan 3 kali ulangan, sehingga terdapat 27 satuan percobaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa skarifikasi fisik pengamplasan ujung benih memberikan pengaruh terbaik pada parameter umur berkecambah (15,44 hari), daya berkecambah (87,78%), potensi tumbuh maksimum (87,78%), kecambah normal (82,22%), dan benih tidak tumbuh (12,22%). Perlakuan perendaman larutan asam sulfat (H2SO4) dengan konsentrasi 30% memberikan pengaruh terbaik pada parameter umur berkecambah (15,00 hari), daya berkecambah (90,00%), potensi tumbuh maksimum (90,00%), kecambah normal (84,44%), dan benih tidak tumbuh (10,00%). Tidak terdapat interaksi antara perlakuan skarifikasi fisik dan perendaman larutan H2SO4 dengan berbagai konsentrasi pada semua parameter penelitian. | |||||||||
