Abstract
Background Birth canal laceration is a wound or tear in the birth canal (vagina) during labor. Postpartum mothers with birth canal lacerations will feel discomfort due to the pain felt in the stitches in the birth canal. One of the non pharmacological techniques that can be used to reduce pain intensity is the administration of rose flower aromatherapy. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of the theory and application related to the implementation of rose flower aromatherapy to reduce postpartum discomfort with birth canal lacerations. The method used in this study was a case study based on the ability of respondents or participants to provide perceptions of a problem. The results showed that both post partum patients with birth canal laceration experienced a decrease in pain intensity after administering rose flower aromatherapy for 3 days. There was a significant decrease in pain intensity, where patient 1 experienced a decrease in pain from scale 6 to 3, while patient 2 experienced a decrease in pain from scale 5 to scale 2. The conclusion of this study is that the administration of rose flower aromatherapy is able to overcome the problem of postpartum discomfort in postpartum mothers with birth canal lacerations.

| Additional Information: | Latar Belakang Laserasi jalan lahir merupakan luka atau adanya robekan di jalan lahir (vagina) saat proses persalinan. Pada ibu pasca partum dengan laserasi jalan lahir akan merasakan ketidaknyamanan karena nyeri yang dirasakan pada jahitan di jalan lahir. Salah satu teknik nonfarmakologi yang dapat digunakan untuk mengurangi intensitas nyeri yaitu dengan pemberian aromaterapi bunga rose. Tujuan Penelitian ini untuk mengetahui gambaran teori dan aplikasi terkait implementasi pemberian aromaterapi bunga rose untuk mengurangi Ketidaknyamanan pasca partum dengan laserasi jalan lahir. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah studi kasus yang berdasarkan pada kemampuan responden atau partisipan dalam memberikan perspepsi terhadap suatu masalah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kedua pasien post partum dengan laserasi jalan lahir mengalami penurunan intensitas nyeri setelah dilakukan pemberian aromaterapi bunga rose selama 3 hari. Terdapat penurunan intensitas nyeri yang signifikan, dimana pasien 1 mengalami penurunan nyeri dari skala 6 menjadi 3, sedangkan pada pasien 2 mengalami penurunan nyeri dari skala 5 menjadi skala 2. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini bahwa pemberian aromaterapi bunga rose mampu mengatasi masalah Ketidaknyamanan pasca partum pada ibu post partum dengan laserasi jalan lahir. | ||||||||||||
