Abstract

This research was aimed to determine the effect of the concentration of AB mix solution and the type planting media on the growth and yield of kailan plants (Brassica oleraceae) hydroponically. This research was used Split Plot Design with two factors. The first factor was concentration (L) which consists of three levels of experiments, namely 800 ppm, 1100 ppm, 1500 ppm. The second factor was the type of planting medium (M) which consists of three levels of experiments, namely Rockwool, Husk charcoal, Cocopeat, which was carried out from December 2022 to January 2023, at the Agricultural Technology Assessment Institute (BPTPs). AB Mix solution concentration of 1500 ppm at plant height parameters of 5 weeks after planting (WAP) with an average of 27.82 cm, and chlorophyll levels aged 5 MST with an average of 62.38 units. However, rockwool planting medium on parameters plant height 5 WAP with an average of 27.39 cm, and at The number of leaves is 1 MST with an average of 2.94 leaves and age 5 WAP with an average of 9.55 pieces. There was an interaction between the treatment of the concentration of ab mix solution and planting medium at the plant height parameter of only 5 WAP age, which was 30.21 cm and the parameter of the number of leaves between the ages of 1 WAP was 3.33 leaves, the age of 4 WAP 8.50 strands and 5 WAP age is 10.16 strands with a solution concentration of 1500 ppm and rockwool planting media.

Additional Information: Kailan (Brassica oleraceae) merupakan sayuran yang berasal dari negara cina yang mirip dengan tanaman sawi dan kembang kol. Kailan mempunyai gizi yang tinggi dan bermanfaat untuk menghaluskan kulit serta sumber zat besi. Nilai ekonomis dan pemasaran kailan cukup prospektif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh konsentrasi larutan AB Mix dan macam media tanam terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman kailan (Brassica oleraceae) secara hidroponik. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Desember 2022 sampai dengan bulan Januari 2023, di Balai Pengkajian Teknologi Pertanian (BPTP) Banten. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Rancangan Petak Terbagi (Split Plot Design) yang terdiri dari dua faktor yaitu konsentrasi larutan AB Mix dan penggunaan jenis media tanam. Faktor pertama dengan tiga taraf yaitu L1 (800 ppm), L2 (1100 ppm), L3 (1500 ppm). Faktor kedua dengan tiga taraf yaitu M1 (rockwoll), M2 (arang sekam), M3 (cocopeat). Terdapat sembilan kombinasi perlakuan dengan ulangan sebanyak tiga kali sehingga diperoleh 27 satuan percobaan. Setiap satuan percobaan terdapat tiga tanaman, sehingga total tanaman dalam penelitian sebanyak 81 tanaman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi larutan 1500 ppm menunjukkan berpengaruh nyata terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman kailan, dengan nilai rata-rata pada parameter tinggi tanaman umur 35 HST (27,82 cm), kadar klorofil daun umur 35 HST (62,38 unit). Jenis media tanam menunjukkan berpengaruh nyata pada parameter tinggi tanaman umur 35 HST (27,39 cm), jumlah daun umur 7 HST (2,94 helai) dan umur 35 HST (9,61 helai). Terdapat interaksi antara konsentrasi larutan dan media tanam terhadap parameter tinggi tanaman pada 35 HST dan jumlah daun pada 7 HST, 28 HST, dan 35 HST. Berdasarkan data tersebut disimpulkan bahwa dapat dimanfaatkan menjadi larutan nutrisi yang mendapatkan pertumbuhan tanaman kailan dengan perlakuan terbaik terdapat pada larutan nutrisi 1500 ppm dan media tanam rockwool.
