Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine SDN Kebondalem students' perceptions of using the Cake Application to improve speaking skills, as well as the benefits that they receive. Descriptive qualitative methods were used in this research. The population of this research was 6th-grade students from SDN Kebondalem with 30 participants. The instruments applied during the study were observation, questionnaire, and interviews. This study demonstrated that students had a favorable opinion of the use of the Cake Application to improve speaking skills based on their own learning experiences. This study also shows that they benefit from the use of the Cake Application, it can increase their self-motivation, help in find new ideas, and get tips and tricks regarding speaking. This indicates the effectiveness of the application in facilitating language development and communication proficiency among students. The respondents expressed a positive view of using the Cake Application to enhance their speaking skills. It helped boost their self-motivation, provided new ideas, and offered useful tips for speaking. The findings suggest that incorporating technology like the Cake Application can make language learning more engaging and enjoyable for sixth-grade students. The researcher identifies students’ perceptions of the Cake Application based on cognitive, affective, and conative components. The cognitive aspect involves acquiring new knowledge and drawing from past experiences, helping students improve pronunciation and understand grammar better. The affective component reflects students’ enjoyment and comfort when learning English, especially in the Cake Application’s user-interfaced. The conative aspect highlights how the Cake Application shapes students’ motivation, behavior, and attitudes by offering an easy-to-follow strategy that supports better comprehension.

Additional Information: Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui persepsi siswa SDN Kebondalem terhadap penggunaan Aplikasi Cake dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara, serta manfaat yang mereka peroleh. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Populasi penelitian adalah siswa kelas VI SDN Kebondalem dengan jumlah partisipan sebanyak 30 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian meliputi observasi, angket, dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa memiliki pandangan positif terhadap penggunaan Aplikasi Cake dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara, berdasarkan pengalaman belajar mereka sendiri. Penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan Aplikasi Cake memberikan manfaat bagi siswa, antara lain meningkatkan motivasi diri, membantu menemukan ide-ide baru, serta memberikan tips dan trik terkait keterampilan berbicara. Temuan ini mengindikasikan efektivitas aplikasi tersebut dalam memfasilitasi pengembangan bahasa dan kelancaran komunikasi siswa. Responden menyatakan pandangan positif terhadap penggunaan Aplikasi Cake untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara, karena membantu meningkatkan motivasi, menyediakan ide-ide baru, dan memberikan tips bermanfaat untuk berbicara. Hasil penelitian ini menyarankan bahwa penerapan teknologi seperti Aplikasi Cake dapat membuat pembelajaran bahasa menjadi lebih menarik dan menyenangkan bagi siswa kelas VI. Peneliti mengidentifikasi persepsi siswa terhadap Aplikasi Cake berdasarkan komponen kognitif, afektif, dan konatif. Aspek kognitif mencakup perolehan pengetahuan baru dan pemanfaatan pengalaman sebelumnya, yang membantu siswa memperbaiki pelafalan serta memahami tata bahasa dengan lebih baik. Aspek afektif mencerminkan rasa senang dan nyaman siswa ketika belajar bahasa Inggris, khususnya melalui antarmuka pengguna Aplikasi Cake. Aspek konatif menyoroti bagaimana Aplikasi Cake membentuk motivasi, perilaku, dan sikap siswa dengan menawarkan strategi yang mudah diikuti untuk mendukung pemahaman yang lebih baik.
