Abstract
This study was motivated by the low listening comprehension skills of students with hearing impairments in understanding short narrative texts in Grade III of SDKH SKh Negeri 01 Kota Serang. The students showed difficulties in grasping the content of texts, following oral instructions, and responding to questions both verbally and nonverbally. The aim of this study is to improve listening skills through the implementation of the Think Pair Share (TPS) cooperative learning model. This research employed a quasi-experimental method with a one group pretest posttest design. The subjects were four students with pure hearing impairments. Data were collected through observation and written tests. The learning process was conducted over four sessions following the steps of Think, Pair, and Share. The results showed a significant improvement in listening skills, with the average pretest score increasing from 48.75 to 78.75 in the posttest. Observations also indicated increased focus, active participation, and students’ confidence in expressing ideas. The implementation of TPS created a more collaborative, enjoyable, and communicative learning environment. In conclusion, the Think Pair Share model is effective in improving the listening comprehension of students with hearing impairments in Indonesian language learning.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan menyimak anak dengan hambatan pendengaran dalam memahami teks cerita pendek di kelas III SDKH SKh Negeri 01 Kota Serang. Anak-anak menunjukkan kesulitan dalam menangkap isi teks, mengikuti instruksi lisan, serta merespons pertanyaan secara verbal maupun nonverbal. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menyimak melalui penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share (TPS). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain one group pretest-posttest. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari empat anak dengan hambatan pendengaran murni. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi dan tes tertulis. Pembelajaran dilaksanakan dalam empat pertemuan menggunakan langkah-langkah Think, Pair, dan Share. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan kemampuan menyimak yang signifikan. Rata-rata skor pretest sebesar 48,75 meningkat menjadi 78,75 pada posttest. Observasi juga menunjukkan peningkatan fokus, partisipasi aktif, serta keberanian anak dalam menyampaikan pendapat. Penerapan model TPS menciptakan suasana belajar yang kolaboratif, menyenangkan, dan lebih komunikatif. Kesimpulannya, model Think Pair Share efektif digunakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menyimak anak dengan hambatan pendengaran dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia. | |||||||||
