Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar's political communication through social media on political support from Generation Z. Generation Z represents a group of young voters who are highly connected to digital technology and possess unique characteristics in receiving political messages. This research employs a descriptive quantitative approach with simple random sampling. The sample consists of 100 Generation Z respondents aged 17–28 years who actively use social media and have seen or interacted with political content from Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire and analyzed using a simple linear regression test. The results show that political communication via social media has a significant effect on Generation Z's political support. This is evidenced by the calculated t value of 32.175 which is greater than the t table of 1.661 and a significance value of 0.000 and a calculated f of 1035.248 with an f table of 3.938 which means 1035.248 > 3.938. The majority of respondents stated that the communication style of Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar is engaging, aligns with Gen Z’s expectations, and helps form a positive image. Furthermore, their political content contributes to increased political awareness, engagement, and the intention to vote. Therefore, political communication strategies through social media are considered effective in building support among young voters.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh komunikasi politik Anies Baswedan dan Muhaimin Iskandar melalui media sosial terhadap dukungan politik dari generasi Z. Generasi Z merupakan kelompok pemilih muda yang sangat terhubung dengan teknologi digital dan memiliki karakteristik tersendiri dalam menerima pesan politik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif dengan teknik simple random sampling. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 100 responden Gen Z berusia 17–28 tahun yang aktif menggunakan media sosial dan telah melihat atau berinteraksi dengan konten politik Anies Baswedan dan Muhaimin Iskandar. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah kuesioner dan data dianalisis menggunakan uji regresi linier sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komunikasi politik yang dilakukan melalui media sosial berpengaruh signifikan terhadap dukungan politik Gen Z. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan nilai t hitung sebesar 32.175 yang lebih besar dari t tabel sebesar 1.661 serta nilai signifikansi sebesar 0.000 dan f hitung sebesar 1035.248 dengan f tabel sebesar 3,938 yang berarti 1035.248 > 3,938. Mayoritas responden menilai gaya komunikasi Anies Baswedan dan Muhaimin Iskandar menarik, sesuai dengan ekspektasi Gen Z, dan mampu membentuk citra positif. Selain itu, konten politik mereka juga mendorong kesadaran dan keterlibatan politik, serta memengaruhi penggunaan hak suara. Dengan demikian, strategi komunikasi politik melalui media sosial dinilai efektif dalam membangun dukungan dari pemilih muda.
