Abstract

This research was aimed to know the growth response and yield of mini shallot bulbs (Allium ascalonicum L.) derived from Lokananta variety seeds in response to varying plant density and liquid silica fertilizer concentration treatments. This research used a randomized block design with two factors as treatments and three replications. The first factor was plant density, which consisted of three levels: 300 plants/m2 , 400 plants/m2 , and 500 plants/m2 . The second factor was the concentration of liquid silica fertilizer, which consisted of four levels: without silica fertilizer, 10 g/l silica, 12 g/l silica, and 14 g/l silica. The results of this research showed that the treatment of 400 plants/m2 gave the best effect on the parameters of mini bulb number per clump (2.50 bulbs), fresh weight of plants per plot (7,840.69 g), dry weight of bulbs per plot (2,823.73 g), and dry weight of bulbs per hectare (14.21 tons). The application of liquid silica fertilizer at a concentration of 12 g/l gave the best effect and result on the parameters of fresh weight of plants per clump (34.38 g), mini bulb number per clump (2.56 bulbs), fresh weight of bulbs per clump (11.87 g), fresh weight of plants per plot (6,942.89 g), dry weight of bulbs per plot (2,568.16 g), and dry weight of bulbs per hectare (12.74 tons).

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui respons pertumbuhan dan hasil umbi mini bawang merah (Allium ascalonicum L.) asal biji varietas Lokananta terhadap perlakuan densitas tanaman dan tingkat konsentrasi pupuk silika cair. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok dengan dua faktor sebagai perlakuan dan tiga ulangan. Faktor pertama adalah densitas tanaman yang terdiri dari tiga taraf yaitu densitas 300 tanaman/m2 , densitas 400 tanaman/m2 , dan densitas 500 tanaman/m2 . Faktor kedua yaitu taraf konsentrasi pupuk silika terdiri dari tanpa pupuk silika, silika 10 g/l, silika 12 g/l, dan silika 14 g/l. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan densitas 400 tanaman/m2 memberikan pengaruh terbaik terhadap parameter jumlah umbi mini per rumpun (2,50 umbi), bobot basah tanaman per petak (7.840,69 g), bobot kering umbi per petak (2.823,73 g), dan bobot kering umbi per ha (14,21 ton). Pemberian Pupuk silika cair pada konsentrasi 12 g/l memberikan pengaruh dan hasil terbaik terhadap parameter bobot basah tanaman per rumpun (34,38 g), jumlah umbi mini per rumpun (2,56 umbi), bobot basah umbi per rumpun (11,87 g), bobot basah tanaman per petak (6.942,89 g), bobot kering umbi per petak (2.568,16 g), dan bobot kering umbi per hekar (12,74 ton).
