Abstract
The background of this study is that children with hearing impairments have intellectual potential equal to that of children in general, but limitations in understanding verbal communication often become obstacles in the learning process, especially in learning practical skills such as thread embroidery. This skill has not been widely applied in special schools, even though thread embroidery has benefits in improving fine motor skills, concentration, and independence of children. Based on these conditions, this study aims to improve the skills of thread embroidery with floral motifs in children with hearing impairments through the application of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) method. The research method used is a quantitative approach with a one-group pre-test and post-test experimental design. The research subjects consisted of three deaf students who already have basic sewing skills. The research instrument was an assessment of thread embroidery skills based on 20 assessment aspects adjusted to the PjBL stages. The learning treatment was carried out in five meetings following the six PjBL syntaxes. The results showed that there was a very significant increase in students' skills after being given the treatment. Students' pre-test scores showed low initial abilities, while post-test scores showed that all students obtained maximum scores. The conclusion of this study is that the Project Based Learning method is effective in improving the skills of thread embroidery with floral motifs in children with hearing impairments. This method also has a positive impact on the development of students' independence, creativity, and self-confidence.

| Additional Information: | Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah anak dengan hambatan pendengaran memiliki potensi intelektual yang setara dengan anak pada umumnya, namun keterbatasan dalam memahami komunikasi verbal seringkali menjadi kendala dalam proses pembelajaran, khususnya dalam pembelajaran keterampilan praktik seperti sulam benang. Keterampilan ini belum banyak diterapkan di sekolah khusus, padahal sulam benang memiliki manfaat dalam meningkatkan motorik halus, konsentrasi, dan kemandirian anak. Berdasarkan kondisi tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan sulam benang motif flora pada anak dengan hambatan pendengaran melalui penerapan metode Project Based Learning (PjBL). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain eksperimen one group pre-test and post-test. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari tiga siswa tunarungu yang telah memiliki keterampilan dasar menjahit. Instrumen penelitian berupa penilaian keterampilan sulam benang berdasarkan 20 aspek penilaian yang disesuaikan dengan tahapan PjBL. Perlakuan pembelajaran dilakukan dalam lima kali pertemuan yang mengikuti enam sintak PjBL. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan yang sangat signifikan pada keterampilan siswa setelah diberikan perlakuan. Skor pre-test siswa menunjukkan kemampuan awal yang rendah, sedangkan skor post-test menunjukkan seluruh siswa memperoleh nilai maksimal. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa metode Project Based Learning efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan sulam benang motif flora pada anak dengan hambatan pendengaran. Metode ini juga memberikan dampak positif terhadap perkembangan kemandirian, kreativitas, dan kepercayaan diri siswa. | |||||||||
