Abstract
The synthesis of tin(II) sulfate (SnSO₄) can be achieved through the electrolysis of tin in a sulfuric acid medium. In such an electrochemical process, several factors influence the yield of the resulting SnSO₄. Accordingly, this study aims to investigate the effect of applied voltage and electrolyte concentration on SnSO₄ production, to determine the optimum conditions for its synthesis, and to compare the obtained SnSO₄ with a commercial counterpart. The experimental procedure involved electrolyzing a tin plate in a sulfuric acid solution, followed by crystallization of the product and subsequent drying of the resulting crystals. The optimum conditions for SnSO₄ synthesis were identified at 6.1 Volt, 10% H₂SO₄, and 1.8 M Na₂SO₄, yielding a product with 94.12% efficiency.

| Additional Information: | Pembuatan timah (II) sulfat dapat dilakukan melalui proses elektrolisis timah di dalam larutan asam sulfat. Dalam proses elektrolisis tersebut, terdapat beberapa faktor yang menentukan hasil timah (II) sulfat yang didapat. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh tegangan listrik dan konsentrasi elektrolit terhadap produksi SnSO4, menentukan kondisi optimum pembuatan SnSO4, dan membandingkan produk SnSO4 yang dihasilkan dengan produk komersial. Metode Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan cara mengelektrolisis pelat timah di dalam larutan asam sulfat, lalu hasil yang didapat akan dikristalisasi dan kristal yang didapat akan dikeringkan. Kondisi optimum untuk pembuatan SnSO4 terdapat pada variasi 6,1 Volt; 10% H2SO4; dan 1,8 M Na2SO4 dengan yield sebesar 94,12%. | ||||||
