Abstract

Gross motor skills are a child's ability to control body movements that involve large muscles, such as running, jumping, throwing, catching, and maintaining balance. Types of gross motor movements include locomotor, non-locomotor, and manipulative movements. This study aims to determine the effect of locomotor activities on the gross motor skills of children aged 5–6 years at PAUD BKB Kemas Mekar Jaya. This research uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design employing a nonequivalent control group design. Data were analyzed using SPSS 30. This is evidenced by the hypothesis test which shows the results of the paired sample t-test yield a sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.001 ≤ 0.05, thus Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, indicating a significant difference between the experimental class and the control class in gross motor skills through locomotor activities. Therefore, locomotor activities have an effect on gross motor skills.

Additional Information: Keterampilan motorik kasar adalah kemampuan anak dalam mengontrol gerakan tubuh yang melibatkan otot-otot besar, seperti berlari, melompat, melempar, menangkap, dan menjaga keseimbangan. Jenis gerak motorik kasar meliputi gerakan lokomotor, non lokomotor, dan manipulatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kegiatan lokomotor terhadap keterampilan motorik kasar anak usia 5–6 tahun di PAUD BKB Kemas Mekar Jaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain quasi eksperimen dengan nonequevalent control group design. Data dianalisis menggunakan SPSS 30. Hal ini terbukti dari uji hipotesis yang menunjukan hasil uji paired sample t – test di peroleh nilai sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,001 ≤ dari 0,05, maka Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima yang berarti terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas control dalam keterampilan motorik kasar melalui kegiatan lokomotor. Dengan demikian kegiatan lokomotor memiliki pengaruh terhadap keterampilan motorik kasar anak usia 5-6 tahun.
