Abstract
This research aims to understand toxic masculinity. This research method uses qualitative with a phenomenological approach. The meaning of masculinity as a form of physical, characteristic, and identical behavior is attached by society to men. Experiences include violence, discrimination against crying and skin care as well as patriarchal parenting. So, the meaning of toxic masculinity is a concept from patriarchal culture which imposes burdens and demands on men to become ideal men according to society's expectations. The state and government in terms of policies and services still pay little attention to men who are victims. Toxic masculinity is a parasite in religion and culture, every time a religion enters an area it will merge with the surrounding culture.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memaknai mengenai toxic masculinity. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Makna dari maskulinitas sebagai bentuk dari fisik, sifat dan perilaku yang identik dilekatkan oleh masyarakat kepada laki-laki. Pengalaman yang dialami seperti mendapatkan kekerasan, diskriminasi terhadap menangis dan perawatan kulit serta pola asuh yang patriarki. Jadi pemaknaan maskulinitas beracun adalah konsep dari budaya patriarki yang dibebani dan dituntut kepada laki-laki untuk menjadi laki-laki yang ideal sesuai dengan ekspektasi masyarakat. Negara dan pemerintah dalam hal kebijakan dan pelayanan masih kurang memperhatikan laki-laki yang menjadi korban. Toxic masculinity yang menjadi benalu di dalam agama dan budaya, setiap agama masuk ke dalam suatu wilayah dia akan melebur dengan budaya sekitar. | ||||||
