Abstract
Children are the nation's most valuable asset and must be protected to ensure their optimal growth and development. Despite the existence of various national and international legal instruments aimed at safeguarding children's rights, the incidence of violence against children including physical, sexual, and psychological abuse remains alarmingly high. This study examines child protection efforts in Indonesia by focusing on the performance of Regional Technical Unit for the Protection of Women and Children (UPTD PPA) in South Tangerang City in responding to cases of sexual violence against children. The study employs Dwiyanto’s (2022) performance theory, which comprises five indicators: Productivity, Service Quality, Responsiveness, Responsibility, And Accountability. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with research informants selected using purposive and snowball sampling techniques. The data collection techniques used in this study are interviews, observation, and document analysis. The findings indicate that UPTD PPA South Tangerang has taken an active role in handling cases. However, it continues to face major challenges, particularly in terms of insufficient human resources and limited budgets, which affect the availability and adequacy of facilities and infrastructure. Despite these obstacles, the unit strives to manage cases as effectively as possible. In light of the growing number of reported cases each year, it is imperative that UPTD PPA South Tangerang conducts continuous performance evaluations to enhance the effectiveness of its child protection efforts in the years to come.

| Additional Information: | Anak merupakan aset masa depan bangsa yang harus dilindungi agar tumbuh dan berkembang secara optimal. Meskipun berbagai instrumen hukum nasional dan internasional telah dibuat untuk menjamin perlindungan anak, realita menunjukkan masih tingginya angka kekerasan terhadap anak, baik secara fisik, seksual, maupun psikologis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji perlindungan anak di Indonesia dengan fokus pada kinerja Unit Pelaksana Teknis Daerah Perlindungan Perempuan dan Anak (UPTD PPA) dalam menangani kasus kekerasan seksual terhadap anak menunggunakan teori Dwiyanto (2022: 48) yang berisikan lima indikator yaitu Produktivitas, Kualitas Pelayanan, Responsivitas, Responsibilitas, Akuntabilitas. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan menentukan informan penelitian menggunakan teknik purposive dan snowball. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah wawancara, observasi dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini, terkait kinerja UPTD PPA Kota Tangerang Selatan telah berperan aktif dalam penanganan kasus, namun masih terdapat hambatan signifikan seperti kurangnya sumber daya manusia, keterbatasan anggaran menyebabkan sarana dan prasarana belum memadai, namun UPTD PPA Kota Tangerang Selatan tetap berupaya menangani kasus secara optimal. mengingat peningkatan jumlah kasus setiap tahunnya, diharapkan UPTD PPA Kota Tangerang Selatan secara berkelanjutan terus melaksanakan evaluasi kinerja guna meningkatkan efektivitas penanganan kasus kekerasan seksual terhadap anak di Kota Tangerang Selatan pada masa yang akan datang. | ||||||
