Abstract

The challenges of rice production in Banten Province will increase in 2023, marked by a decline in production output as well as distribution problems and unstable rice prices. One of the main causes of this condition is long and inefficient marketing channels. This study aims to analyze marketing channels, marketing institutions, marketing functions, and the level of rice marketing efficiency at the Banyu Mili Rice Mill, Kilasah Village, Kasemen District, Serang City, Banten Province. Data was collected through direct interviews with manufacturers and retailers, as well as secondary data from relevant agencies. Data analysis includes the identification of marketing channels, the calculation of marketing costs, marketing margins, profits, and producer's share.The results of the study show that there are two rice marketing channels, namely: (1) Channel 1: Producers → Consumers directly, with a margin of Rp 0/kg and producer's share of 100%; (2) Channel 2: Producers → Retailers, → Consumers, with a margin of Rp 1.108/kg and a producer's share of 91%; and (3) Channel 3: Producers → Bulog→ Retailers, → Consumers, with a margin of Rp 1.000/kg and a producer's share of 92%; . Channel 1 proved to be the most efficient because it did not involve intermediaries, so distribution costs were low and producers obtained the full selling price. Followed by channel 3 with a margin of Rp 1.000/kg and a producer’s share of 92%. Channel 2 had the lowest efficiency, with a margin of Rp 1.108/kg and a producer’s share of 91%.

Additional Information: Tantangan produksi padi di Provinsi Banten akan meningkat pada tahun 2023, ditandai dengan penurunan hasil produksi serta masalah distribusi dan harga padi yang tidak stabil. Salah satu penyebab utama kondisi ini adalah saluran pemasaran yang panjang dan tidak efisien. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis saluran pemasaran, lembaga pemasaran, fungsi pemasaran, dan tingkat efisiensi pemasaran padi di Penggilingan Padi Banyu Mili, Desa Kilasah, Kecamatan Kasemen, Kota Serang, Provinsi Banten. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara langsung dengan produsen dan pengecer, serta data sekunder dari lembaga terkait. Analisis data mencakup identifikasi saluran pemasaran, perhitungan biaya pemasaran, margin pemasaran, keuntungan, dan bagian produsen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat dua saluran pemasaran beras, yaitu: (1) Saluran 1: Produsen → Konsumen langsung, dengan margin Rp 0/kg dan pangsa produsen 100%; (2) Saluran 2: Produsen → Pengecer → Konsumen, dengan margin Rp 1.108/kg dan pangsa produsen 91%; dan (3) Saluran 3: Produsen → Bulog → Pengecer → Konsumen, dengan margin Rp 1.000/kg dan pangsa produsen 92%. Saluran 1 terbukti paling efisien karena tidak melibatkan perantara, sehingga biaya distribusi rendah dan produsen mendapatkan harga jual penuh. Diikuti oleh saluran 3 dengan selisih Rp 1.000/kg dan bagian produsen sebesar 92%. Saluran 2 memiliki efisiensi terendah, dengan selisih Rp 1.108/kg dan pangsa produsen 91%.
