Abstract
ABSTRACT “Indirect Expression in the Anthology of Love Poems by W.S. Rendra and Implications for LiteraturLearning in Vocational High Schools (Riffaterre's Semiotic Approach)” This study aims to reveal the forms of indirect expression in the Love Poems anthology by W.S. Rendra and examine its implications for literaturlearning in Vocational High Schools (SMK). This study uses the Riffaterre semiotic approach which emphasizes semiotic reading through three stages: heuristic reading, hermeneutic reading, and hypogram identification. The results of the study indicate that the poems in the anthology use a lot of indirect expression through the mechanisms of displacing, distorting, and creating meaning. These expressions describe the complexity of the emotion of love in various forms and situations, and contain rich symbolic meanings. In the context of literaturlearning in SMK, these findings can be used to foster students' appreciation of modern poetry while training their ability to analyze and interpret literary texts critically and creatively. Therefore, literaturlearning based on the Riffaterre semiotic approach is relevant to be integrated into the literaturcurriculum at the SMK level. Rendra Dan Implikasi Terhadap Pembelajaran Sastra Di Smk (Pendekatan Semiotika Riffaterre)” Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap bentuk-bentuk ekspresi tidak langsung dalam antologi Puisi Cinta karya W.S. Rendra serta mengkaji implikasinya terhadap pembelajaran sastra di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK). Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan semiotika Riffaterre yang menekankan pada pembacaan semiotik melalui tiga tahapan: pembacaan heuristik, pembacaan hermeneutik, dan identifikasi hipogram. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa puisi-puisi dalam antologi tersebut banyak menggunakan ekspresi tidak langsung melalui mekanisme penyimpangan, penciptaan, dan penggantian makna (displacing, distorting, dan creating meaning). Ekspresi tersebut menggambarkan kompleksitas emosi cinta dalam berbagai bentuk dan situasi, serta mengandung makna simbolik yang kaya. Dalam konteks pembelajaran sastra di SMK, temuan ini dapat dimanfaatkan untuk menumbuhkan apresiasi siswa terhadap puisi modern sekaligus melatih kemampuan analisis dan interpretasi teks sastra secara kritis dan kreatif. Oleh karena itu, pembelajaran sastra berbasis pendekatan semiotika Riffaterre relevan untuk diintegrasikan dalam kurikulum sastra di tingkat SMK.
