Abstract

The purpose of this study was to collect empirical data on the impact of the Duolingo application on improving students' vocabulary mastery. This study used a quasi-experimental research design. The research participants were sixth-grade students of SDN Gelam Jaya 2, Tangerang Regency, with a sample consisting of 40 students of class VI B as the experimental group and 40 students of class VI A as the control group. The data collection technique used a pre-test and a post-test, while the data analysis technique used a normality test, a homogeneity test, and a hypothesis test using the independent sample t-test formula. The results of this study were t-v = 6.473 > t-t = 2.286. This indicates a significant influence of the use of the Duolingo application on students' vocabulary mastery.

Additional Information: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengumpulkan data empiris tentang dampak aplikasi Duolingo terhadap peningkatan penguasaan kosakata siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian kuasi eksperimen. Partisipan penelitian adalah siswa kelas enam SDN Gelam Jaya 2 Kabupaten Tangerang, dengan sampel terdiri dari 40 siswa kelas VI B sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan 40 siswa kelas VI A sebagai kelompok kontrol. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes awal dan tes akhir, sedangkan teknik analisis data menggunakan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, dan uji hipotesis menggunakan rumus uji-t sampel independen. Hasil penelitian ini adalah t-v = 6,473 > t-t = 2,286. Hal ini menunjukkan adanya pengaruh yang signifikan penggunaan aplikasi Duolingo terhadap penguasaan kosakata siswa.
