Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of LED light supplementation on the growth and yield of three lettuce varieties. The research was conducted from October to December 2024 located at Griya Permata Asri, Dalung, Cipocok Jaya, Serang City, Banten Province (elevation of 44 meters above sea level) and Laboratory of Basic Science and Plant Protection, Faculty of Agriculture, Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University. The experiment used a nested design with two factors and three replications. The first factor was LED light supplementation at three levels, namely: 0 hours (T0), 2 hours (T1), and 4 hours (T2) irradiation, while the second factor consisted of three lettuce varieties nested within the first factor, namely: New Grand Rapids (V1), Matt Green (V2), and Romaine (V3). Irradiation was provided by 2835 red and blue LED strip lights hanging 25 cm above the growing medium, activated daily at 5:00 PM and automatically deactivated according to treatment. The results showed the 4 hours LED supplementation (T2) yielded the best results for leaf greenness (18.91 units), fresh weight (21.67 g), crown fresh weight (20.30 g), and crown dry weight (0.47 g), while the Romaine variety (V3) showed the highest leaf greenness (23.32 units).

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh suplementasi cahaya LED terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tiga varietas selada. Penelitian dilaksanakan dari Oktober hingga Desember 2024, bertempat di Griya Permata Asri, Dalung, Cipocok Jaya, Kota Serang, Provinsi Banten (ketinggian 44 meter di atas permukaan laut) dan Laboratorium Ilmu Dasar dan Perlindungan Tanaman, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa. Percobaan menggunakan rancangan tersarang dengan dua faktor dan tiga ulangan. Faktor pertama adalah suplementasi cahaya LED pada tiga tingkat, yaitu: penyinaran 0 jam (T0), 2 jam (T1), dan 4 jam (T2), sedangkan faktor kedua terdiri dari tiga varietas selada yang tersarang di dalam faktor pertama, yaitu: New Grand Rapids (V1), Matt Green (V2), dan Romaine (V3). Iradiasi diberikan oleh 2835 lampu strip LED merah dan biru yang digantung 25 cm di atas media tanam, diaktifkan setiap hari pukul 17.00 dan dinonaktifkan secara otomatis sesuai perlakuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa suplementasi LED selama 4 jam (T2) menghasilkan hasil terbaik untuk tingkat kehijauan daun (18,91 unit), berat segar (21,67 g), berat segar tajuk (20,30 g), dan berat kering tajuk (0,47 g), sedangkan varietas Romaine (V3) menunjukkan tingkat kehijauan daun tertinggi (23,32 unit).
