Abstract

This study aims to determine: (1) the management of Scout extracurricular activities in optimizing the strengthening of student character at SMP Negeri 3 Kalanganyar, Lebak Regency, Banten Province, and (2) the role of Dasa Dharma values in reinforcing student character at the same school. The study employs a qualitative approach using a descriptive method. Data collection techniques include interviews, observations, and documentation involving the school principal, Scout instructors, and students. The results of the study indicate that the management of Scout extracurricular activities is carried out through the stages of planning, organizing, implementation, and evaluation. Scout activities have been proven effective in instilling character values in students such as discipline, responsibility, independence, cooperation, and honesty. In addition, the values contained in Dasa Dharma serve as the foundation for shaping students’ overall character. Therefore, Scout activities are an effective medium for supporting the strengthening of character education in schools.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui (1) pengelolaan ekstrakurikuler Pramuka dalam mengoptimalkan penguatan karakter siswa di SMP Negeri 3 Kalanganyar, Kabupaten Lebak, Provinsi Banten (2) Nilai-nilai dasa dharma berperan dalam penguatan karakter siswa di SMPN 3 Kalanganyar Kabupaten Lebak Provinsi Banten. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi yang melibatkan kepala sekolah, pembina Pramuka, dan siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengelolaan ekstrakurikuler Pramuka dilaksanakan melalui tahapan perencanaan, pengorganisasian, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Kegiatan Pramuka terbukti mampu menanamkan nilai-nilai karakter siswa seperti disiplin, tanggung jawab, kemandirian, kerja sama, dan kejujuran. Selain itu, nilai-nilai dalam Dasa Dharma Pramuka menjadi landasan dalam membentuk karakter siswa secara menyeluruh. Dengan demikian, kegiatan Pramuka menjadi salah satu wadah efektif dalam mendukung penguatan pendidikan karakter di sekolah.
