Abstract
This study evaluate the effect of gamma-ray irradiation dose and two varieties of sugar palm (Arenga pinnata Merr.) to obtain the best growth rate. This study was conducted from November to May 2025 at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University. The research used a factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD). The first factor was the gamma-ray irradiation dose (B) consisting of 5 levels: 0 Gy (control), 4 Gy, 6 Gy, 8 Gy, and 10 Gy. The second factor was the varieties of sugar palm (V) consisting of 2 levels: parasi and lokal Lebak. The observation parameters recorded in this study included: plant height (cm), leaf width (cm), number of leaves (sheet), and greenish of leaf. Every combination of factors repeated 3 times and each have 2 plants. The results of the study showed that the doses of gamma radiation 4 Gy the best effects on plant height, leaf width, and number of leaves. While the greenish leaves gave the best effect on radiation dose of 6 Gy. There is no effect on two varieties of sugar palm and no interaction effect between the combination of gamma ray radiation dose and varieties of sugar palm.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh aplikasi dosis radiasi sinar gamma pada dua varietas aren (Arenga pinnata Merr.) agar mendapatkan laju pertumbuhan terbaik. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kebun Percobaan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa, Kp. Cikuya Karang Kitri, Desa Sindangsari, Kecamatan Pabuaran, Kabupaten Serang, Banten. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan November hingga Mei 2025. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) faktorial. Faktor pertama yaitu dosis radiasi sinar gamma (B) terdiri dari 5 taraf: 0 Gy (kontrol), 4 Gy, 6 Gy, 8 Gy, dan 10 Gy. Faktor kedua yaitu varietas aren (V) terdiri dari 2 taraf: aren parasi dan aren lokal Lebak. Setiap perlakuan diulang sebanyak 3 kali diperoleh 30 satuan percobaan yang masing-masing terdapat dua tanaman, sehingga diperoleh 60 benih. Parameter yang diamati yaitu tinggi tanaman, lebar daun, jumlah daun, dan kehijauan daun. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dosis sinar gamma memberikan pengaruh terbaik pada dosis 4 Gy untuk parameter tinggi tanaman, lebar daun, dan jumlah daun. Parameter kehijauan daun memberikan pengaruh terbaik pada dosis sinar gamma 6 Gy. Tidak terdapat pengaruh yang nyata pada varietas tanaman aren dan interaksi antara dosis sinar gamma dengan varietas tanaman aren. | |||||||||
