Abstract
This research was motivated by the difficulties experienced by first-grade students with hearing impairments at SDKh in mastering vocabulary related to objects due to limitations in receiving verbal information. The aim of this study is to determine the effectiveness of interactive media in improving vocabulary acquisition among children with hearing impairments at SKh Negeri 01 Kota Serang. Based on observations and interviews, it was found that the children still faced challenges in recognizing the names of objects in their surroundings and required additional reinforcement to use them in learning activities. This study employed an experimental method with a One Group Pre-Test Post-Test design, involving three children with hearing impairments as subjects. The interactive media used consisted of a learning application featuring pictures, guessing games, word-building activities, and matching words with images. Data were collected through pre-tests and post-tests to assess the children’s ability to identify, name, and write vocabulary items. The Wilcoxon test results showed a significant improvement after the intervention. Interactive media proved to be effective in helping children better understand and remember vocabulary through engaging visuals and enjoyable activities.

Additional Information: | Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kesulitan anak dengan hambatan pendengaran di kelas I SDKh dalam menguasai kosakata benda akibat keterbatasan dalam menerima informasi secara verbal. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas media interaktif dalam meningkatkan penguasaan kosakata pada anak dengan hambatan pendengaran di SKh Negeri 01 Kota Serang. Berdasarkan hasil observasi dan wawancara, ditemukan bahwa anak masih mengalami kendala dalam mengenali nama-nama benda di lingkungan sekitar, dan membutuhkan penguatan tambahan dalam menggunakannya dalam kegiatan belajar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan desain One Group Pre-Test Post-Test dengan tiga anak dengan hambatan pendengaran sebagai subjek. Media interaktif yang digunakan berupa aplikasi pembelajaran dengan gambar, permainan tebak gambar, susun huruf, dan menjodohkan kata dengan gambar. Data diperoleh melalui pretest dan post-test untuk menilai kemampuan anak dalam menunjukkan, menyebutkan, dan menuliskan kosakata. Hasil uji Wilcoxon menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan setelah perlakuan. Media interaktif terbukti efektif membantu anak lebih mudah memahami dan mengingat kosakata melalui tampilan visual yang menarik dan aktivitas yang menyenangkan. | |||||||||
