Abstract
One of the most urgent issues in English language teaching, especially in Indonesia, is the lack of effective vocabulary instruction strategies. Based on preliminary research conducted during practical teaching at SMP 15 Kota Serang, it was observed that a significant number of seventh-grade students exhibit a deficiency in basic vocabulary, which adversely affects their ability to memorize words and perform well in English assessments. This study aims to examine the impact of using Anki Pro e-flashcards as a tool for teaching vocabulary to seventh-grade students at SMP 15 Kota Serang. The researcher applied a quantitative research method using a true experimental design. The population consisted of 332 students from eight classes (7A-7H). Two samples were selected: 7B as the experimental group and 7C as the control group. Cluster random sampling was used as the sampling method. Data were analyzed with IBM SPSS version 25.0. Results showed that the mean post-test score for the experimental group was higher than that of the control group (78.06 > 70.56). This indicates that students’ vocabulary knowledge improved in the experimental group after using Anki Pro e-flashcards. This study concludes that Anki Pro e-flashcards are an effective tool for vocabulary instruction, capable of boosting students' motivation and engagement in learning vocabulary.

Additional Information: | Salah satu masalah paling mendesak dalam pengajaran bahasa Inggris, terutama di Indonesia, adalah kurangnya strategi pengajaran kosakata yang efektif. Berdasarkan penelitian awal yang dilakukan selama pengajaran praktis di SMP 15 Kota Serang, diamati bahwa sejumlah besar siswa kelas tujuh mengalami kekurangan dalam kosakata dasar, yang berdampak negatif pada kemampuan mereka untuk menghafal kata-kata dan berprestasi baik dalam penilaian bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji dampak penggunaan Anki Pro e-flashcards sebagai alat pengajaran kosakata bagi siswa kelas tujuh di SMP 15 Kota Serang. Peneliti menerapkan metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain eksperimen sejati. Populasi penelitian terdiri dari 332 siswa dari delapan kelas (7A-7H). Dua sampel dipilih: 7B sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan 7C sebagai kelompok kontrol. Metode sampling yang digunakan adalah cluster random sampling. Data dianalisis menggunakan IBM SPSS versi 25.0. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa skor post-test rata-rata kelompok eksperimen lebih tinggi daripada kelompok kontrol (78,06 > 70,56). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa pengetahuan kosakata siswa di kelompok eksperimen meningkat setelah menggunakan kartu flash elektronik Anki Pro. Studi ini menyimpulkan bahwa kartu flash elektronik Anki Pro merupakan alat yang efektif untuk pengajaran kosakata, mampu meningkatkan motivasi dan keterlibatan siswa dalam belajar kosakata. | |||||||||
