Abstract
The rapid expansion of the digital economy has engendered novel professions, notably that of the "YouTuber," who employs diverse monetization strategies to generate revenue. Consequently, methods such as Google AdSense, donation links, Super Thanks, affiliate marketing, and copyright management frequently present considerable ethical dilemmas when scrutinized under the principles of Sharia. This research, therefore, seeks to analyze the monetization mechanisms inherent to the YouTuber profession, evaluate their conformity with the tenets of Islamic business ethics, and delineate strategic measures for Muslim content creators to preserve their commercial integrity. The study utilizes a qualitative methodology, adopting a field research design wherein data were procured through observation, documentation, and a comprehensive literature review of the YouTube platform. A descriptive analytical approach was employed to facilitate a thorough understanding of the phenomenon. The findings reveal that monetization within the YouTuber profession is permissible under Sharia, contingent upon the application of specific contractual frameworks (akad). Google AdSense is categorized under the syirkah ‘abdan contract, on the condition that creators are obligated to block advertisements featuring prohibited (haram) elements, such as interest (riba) and gambling (maysir). Monetization through donation links and Super Thanks is sanctioned under an ijarah contract (for service requests) or a hibah contract (for voluntary endowments), provided the creator verifies that the source of funds and accompanying messages adhere to Sharia. Furthermore, affiliate programs are deemed permissible through ju’alah, samsarah, or wakalah bil ujrah contracts, provided that the promoted products are lawful (halal) and all related information is conveyed with veracity. Finally, copyright is acknowledged as a form of monetizable asset (mal); however, the infringement of another's copyright is strictly forbidden (haram), as it is considered an act of injustice (zulm).

| Additional Information: | Perkembangan pesat ekonomi digital telah melahirkan profesi baru seperti YouTuber, yang memanfaatkan berbagai metode monetisasi untuk memperoleh pendapatan. Namun, metode seperti Google AdSense, link donasi, Super Thanks, afiliasi, dan hak cipta seringkali menimbulkan tantangan etis yang signifikan jika ditinjau dari perspektif syariah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis mekanisme monetisasi pada profesi YouTuber, meninjau kesesuaiannya dengan prinsip-prinsip etika bisnis Islam, dan mengidentifikasi langkah-langkah strategis bagi konten kreator Muslim untuk menjaga integritas bisnisnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian lapangan (field research), di mana data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, dokumentasi, dan studi pustaka pada platform YouTube. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif untuk memahami fenomena secara mendalam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa monetisasi pada profesi YouTuber dapat dibenarkan secara syariah dengan akad-akad tertentu. Google AdSense dapat dikategorikan sebagai akad syirkah ‘abdan, namun kreator wajib memblokir iklan yang mengandung unsur haram seperti riba dan maysir. Link donasi dan Super Thanks dapat menggunakan akad ijarah (jika disertai permintaan jasa) atau hibah (pemberian sukarela), dengan syarat kreator memastikan sumber dana dan isi pesan tidak bertentangan dengan syariah. Program afiliasi diperbolehkan melalui akad ju’alah, samsarah, atau wakalah bil ujrah, selama produk yang dipromosikan halal dan informasinya jujur. Terakhir, hak cipta diakui sebagai kekayaan (mal) yang boleh dimonetisasi, namun pelanggaran hak cipta orang lain hukumnya haram karena termasuk kezaliman. | |||||||||
