Abstract
This study aims to identify various obstacles experienced by students during their Field Work Practice (PKL) in the Light Vehicle Automotive Engineering (TKRO) program at SMK Negeri 4 Kota Serang. The research focuses on aspects of planning, implementation, assessment, as well as the monitoring and evaluation processes of PKL. A descriptive quantitative method was used, with data collected through questionnaires distributed to 63 twelfth-grade TKRO students and interviews with PKL supervising teachers. The findings indicate that many students face issues such as the mismatch between PKL placement and their area of expertise, insufficient preparation before PKL, and discrepancies between the material taught at school and that applied in the industry. Nevertheless, the assessment results for PKL planning, implementation, and evaluation generally fall into the good to very good categories. Industry assessments of students also tend to be positive; however, school monitoring is still suboptimal due to limited resources. Based on these results, the study recommends that schools strengthen cooperation with industry, improve preparation and monitoring systems, and ensure that PKL placements align with students' competencies. The findings of this research are expected to serve as a reference for schools in improving the quality of PKL implementation and the job readiness of vocational school graduates.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi berbagai kendala yang dialami siswa selama menjalani Praktik Kerja Lapangan (PKL) pada program Teknik Kendaraan Ringan Otomotif (TKRO) di SMK Negeri 4 Kota Serang. Penelitian memusatkan perhatian pada aspek perencanaan, pelaksanaan, penilaian, serta proses monitoring dan evaluasi PKL. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif deskriptif, dengan data dikumpulkan melalui angket kepada 63 siswa kelas XII TKRO dan wawancara dengan guru pembimbing. Temuan penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa banyak siswa menghadapi masalah seperti ketidaksesuaian lokasi PKL dengan bidang keahlian, kurangnya pembekalan sebelum PKL, serta perbedaan antara materi yang didapat di sekolah dengan yang diterapkan di industri. Walaupun demikian, hasil penilaian terhadap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi PKL secara umum berada pada kategori baik hingga sangat baik. Penilaian dari pihak industri terhadap siswa juga cenderung positif, namun monitoring dari pihak sekolah masih belum maksimal akibat keterbatasan sumber daya. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, penelitian merekomendasikan agar sekolah memperkuat kerja sama dengan dunia industri, meningkatkan sistem pembekalan dan monitoring, serta memastikan penempatan PKL sesuai dengan kompetensi siswa. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi referensi bagi sekolah dalam meningkatkan mutu pelaksanaan PKL dan kesiapan kerja lulusan SMK.
