Abstract

This study aims to analyze the contribution of nickel export value to the Indonesian economy using the Input-Output Analysis approach. In this study, nickel export value is modeled as a shock variable to measure its impact on four main sectors, namely the nickel ore sector, mining and other excavation services, roads-bridgesports, and electricity. This study measures the contribution of exports to increased output, labor compensation, business surplus, and tax revenues in each of these sectors. The results of the analysis show that nickel export activities have a significant impact on the economy, both directly and indirectly. The infrastructure and energy sectors are the recipients of the greatest impact because of their crucial role in supporting the smooth running of export activities. This finding confirms that nickel exports have a strong economic multiplier effect, so that downstreaming and infrastructure strengthening strategies need to be continuously developed so that the added value of nickel exports can be increasingly optimal and sustainable to drive national economic growth..
