Abstract

Ambon banana stems and papaya leaves have phytopharmaca compounds that are useful for boosting the immune system of a fish against pathogenic bacteria. This study aims to determine the best concentration between the combination of Ambon banana stems and papaya leaves on the resistance of catfish to A. hydrophila infection. The experimental design used completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatment was in the form of a comparison of Ambon banana stems and papaya leaves that using A. hydrophila on maintenance media of 103 CFU/ml with doses A (Control), B (1:1), C (3:1), and D (1:3). Feed given 2 times a day for 30 days. The results of the study discovered high survival rates ranging from 24.44 - 82.22. The hemoglobin ranged from 2.53 g dL-¹ – 4.57 g dL-¹, the hematocrit ranged from 22.60 - 23.34, and the erythrocytes ranged from 1.13 – 1.72 (106 cells/mm³) and in leukocytes it ranges from 5.89 – 7.71 (10⁴cells/mm³). Heterophile leukocyte differential ranged from 5.67 - 13.33, lymphocytes 77.00 - 89.00 and phagocytic activity ranged from 24.12 – 33.48. The conclusion is that treatment C (3:1) is the best treatment among other treatments with a catfish survival rate 82,22%. The immunity of catfish increased in treatment C which could be seen from the phagocytic 33,48%, and lymphocytes 89 %.

Additional Information: Batang pisang ambon dan daun pepaya memiliki senyawa fitofarmaka yang bermanfaat untuk meningkatkan sistem kekebalan ikan terhadap bakteri patogen. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan konsentrasi terbaik antara kombinasi batang pisang ambon dan daun pepaya terhadap ketahanan ikan lele terhadap infeksi A. hydrophila. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan berupa perbandingan batang pisang ambon dan daun pepaya yang menggunakan A. hydrophila pada media pemeliharaan 103 CFU/ml dengan dosis A (Kontrol), B (1:1), C (3:1), dan D (1:3). Pakan diberikan 2 kali sehari selama 30 hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tingkat kelangsungan hidup yang tinggi berkisar antara 24,44 - 82,22. Hemoglobin berkisar antara 2,53 g dL-1 - 4,57 g dL-1, hematokrit berkisar antara 22,60 - 23,34, dan eritrosit berkisar antara 1,13 - 1,72 (106 sel/mm³) dan pada leukosit berkisar antara 5,89 - 7,71 (104 sel/mm³). Diferensial leukosit heterofil berkisar antara 5,67 - 13,33, limfosit 77,00 - 89,00 dan aktivitas fagositosis berkisar antara 24,12 - 33,48. Kesimpulannya adalah bahwa perlakuan C (3:1) merupakan perlakuan terbaik di antara perlakuan lainnya dengan tingkat kelangsungan hidup ikan lele 82,22%. Imunitas ikan lele meningkat pada perlakuan C yang dapat dilihat dari fagositosis 33,48%, dan limfosit 89%.
