Abstract
This research analyzes the rise of Dai'yah in political campaigns and the transformation of Majelis Taklim in West Jakarta, during the masculine domination in religious and political spaces. This research is intended to reveal how Dai'yah builds political influence, efforts to advance himself in the midst of masculine structures, and the transformation of Majelis Taklim as a campaign medium, together with the MANIES volunteer group. By using Anthony Giddens' Structuration theory and a qualitative method of single instrumental case study approach of Creswell (2013). The results of the study reveal that religious discourse (Signification) used by female figures who have symbolic power (Domination) and supported by social norms (Legitimacy) is able to produce social practices in the form of “ceramah” and political declarations at Majelis Taklim. This social practice occurs repeatedly and presents social reproduction through the re-interpretation of the meaning that politics is the same as “dakwah”, Majelis Taklim as a political medium, and breaking down the existing patriarchal structure. This shows that the three groups of structures can be utilized by reflective women's agencies and present a new atmosphere in the religious and political campaign in Indonesia.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini menganalisis peristiwa kebangkitan Dai’yah dalam kampanye politik dan transformasi Majelis Taklim di Jakarta Barat, di tengah dominasi maskulin dalam ruang keagamaan dan politik. Riset ini dimaksudkan untuk mengungkap bagaimana Dai’yah membangun pengaruh politik, upaya pengunggulan diri di tengah struktur maskulin, dan transformasi Majelis Taklim sebagai media kampanye bersama dengan kelompok relawan MANIES. Dengan menggunakan teori Strukturasi Anthony Giddens dan metode kualitatif pendekatan studi kasus instrumental tunggal ala Creswell (2013). Adapun hasil penelitian mengungkap bahwa wacana keagamaan (Signifikasi) digunakan oleh tokoh perempuan yang memiliki kekuasaan simbolik (Dominasi) dan didukung norma sosial (Legitimasi) mampu menghasilkan praktik sosial berupa ceramah dan deklarasi politik di Majelis Taklim. Praktik sosial ini terjadi secara berulang-ulang dan menghadirkan reproduksi sosial melalui re-interpretasi makna bahwa politik sama dengan dakwah, Majelis Taklim sebagai sarana politik, dan mendobrak struktur patriarki yang ada. Ini menunjukkan bahwa ketiga gugus struktur mampu dimanfaatkan oleh agency perempuan reflektif dan menghadirkan suasana baru dalam tataran keagamaan dan political campaign di Indonesia. | ||||||
