Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem based learning model on cognitive learning outcomes and learning motivation of class X students of SMA Negeri 17 Pandeglang on ecosystem material. The method used is quasi experimental with Pretest-Postest non-equivalent control group design. The population in this study were all class X at SMA Negeri 17 Pandeglang with samples selected using random sampling techniques. Data were taken using test and non-test techniques, the results of the study showed that the cognitive learning outcomes of students in the experimental class were 80.38 with a good category and the control class 59.04 with a less category. The average motivation scores of the experimental and control classes were 77.79 and 65.19. The results of the hypothesis test of cognitive learning outcomes and students' learning motivation using the independent sample t-test obtained results of 0.000 <0.05, the hypothesis test of learning motivation using the independent sample t-test showed a significance of 0.000 <0.05, so the hypothesis is accepted, there is an influence of the Problem Based Learning model on cognitive learning outcomes and learning motivation of class X students at SMA Negeri 17 Pandeglang on ecosystem material.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh model pembelajaran Problem based learning terhadap hasil belajar kognitif dan motivasi belajar siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 17 Pandeglang pada materi ekosistem. Metode yang digunakan kuasi eksperimen dengan desain Pretest-Postest non-equivalent control group design. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh kelas X di SMA Negeri 17 Pandeglang dengan sampel dipilih secara teknik random sampling. Data diambil dengan teknik tes dan non tes, hasil penelitian menunjukan hasil belajar kognitif siswa kelas eksperimen 80,38 dengan kategori baik dan kelas kontrol 59,04 dengan kategori kurang. Rata-rata nilai motivasi kelas eksperimen dan kontrol adalah 77,79 dan 65,19. Hasil uji hipotesis hasil belajar kognitif dan motivasi belajar siswa menggunakan uji independent sample t-test memperoleh hasil yaitu 0,000 < 0,05, uji hipotesis motivasi belajar dengan menggunakan uji independent sample t-test menunjukkan signifikasi 0,000 < 0,05 maka hipotesis diterima, terdapat pengaruh model Pembelajaran Problem Based Learning terhadap hasil belajar kognitif dan motivasi belajar siswa kelas X di SMA Negeri 17 Pandeglang pada materi ekosistem
