Abstract
Asuransi Usahatani Padi (AUTP) is one of the government's efforts to protect farmers from the risk of crop failure due to natural disasters, pest attacks, or plant diseases. However, farmer participation in this program remains low, including in Cikeusik Subdistrict, Pandeglang Regency. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing farmers' decisions to participate in the AUTP program, both internal factors (age, formal education, non-formal education, farming experience) and external factors (innovation characteristics and the role of agricultural extension officers). The research method used is quantitative with a survey approach targeting 60 farmers in Cikeusik Subdistrict selected randomly. Data was collected through questionnaires, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using binary logistic regression. The results of the study indicate that age, formal education, innovation characteristics, and the role of agricultural extension officers significantly influence farmers' decisions to participate in the AUTP program. Meanwhile, non-formal education and farming experience do not have a significant influence. These findings suggest that socialization and guidance by agricultural extension officers need to be improved, especially in communicating the benefits and procedures of the AUTP. Additionally, the AUTP program needs to be adapted to the characteristics of local farmers to make it easier to adopt. This study contributes to the development of strategies to enhance farmer participation in the AUTP program and serves as a reference for future research exploring other factors such as income or land ownership.

| Additional Information: | Asuransi Usahatani Padi (AUTP) merupakan salah satu upaya pemerintah untuk melindungi petani dari risiko kegagalan panen akibat bencana alam, serangan hama, atau penyakit tanaman. Namun, partisipasi petani dalam program ini masih rendah, termasuk di Kecamatan Cikeusik, Kabupaten Pandeglang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi keputusan petani untuk berpartisipasi dalam program AUTP, baik faktor internal (usia, pendidikan formal, pendidikan non-formal, pengalaman bertani) maupun faktor eksternal (karakteristik inovasi dan peran petugas penyuluhan pertanian). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan pendekatan survei yang menargetkan 60 petani di Kecamatan Cikeusik yang dipilih secara acak. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner, wawancara, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan regresi logistik biner. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa usia, pendidikan formal, karakteristik inovasi, dan peran petugas penyuluhan pertanian secara signifikan mempengaruhi keputusan petani untuk berpartisipasi dalam program AUTP. Sementara itu, pendidikan non-formal dan pengalaman bertani tidak memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan. Temuan ini menyarankan bahwa sosialisasi dan bimbingan oleh petugas penyuluhan pertanian perlu ditingkatkan, terutama dalam menyampaikan manfaat dan prosedur program AUTP. Selain itu, program AUTP perlu disesuaikan dengan karakteristik petani lokal agar lebih mudah diadopsi. Studi ini berkontribusi pada pengembangan strategi untuk meningkatkan partisipasi petani dalam program AUTP dan dapat menjadi acuan untuk penelitian masa depan yang mengeksplorasi faktor lain seperti pendapatan atau kepemilikan lahan. | |||||||||
