Abstract

Sensor-based measurement, in biomedicals, are still in the analog-form signals that are difficult to analyze, so they require a data acquisition system to ease out for researcher or medical personnel to know the results of sensor measurements. This study aims to design a data acquisition circuit for the Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) phantom impedance sensor, analyze the performance of the analog circuit in the data acquisition system, and design a Graphical User Interface (GUI) interface. The EIT phantom impedance sensor produces signals in the mV range with high noise. The AD620 amplifier is able to increase voltage by 98,8 times with an ideal gain calculation of 97,8. The high pass filter can dampen offset DC ±2 V, 2nd order low pass filter active can reduces noise, amplify voltage up to ±1,319 times with an ideal gain calculation of 1,33 and pass a 10 kHz frequency signal according to the signal frequency of the EIT phantom impedance sensor. The peak detector is able to convert Alternating Current (AC) signals to Direct Current (DC) with a diode voltage drop of ±0.2 V. The minimum system of the ATmega328P is able to process the average value of the Analog to Digital Converter (ADC) accurately despite the difference of ±0.01 V in the output voltage of the peak detector. The average value of the ADC is sent serially to a GUI interface designed using the Python programming language. The GUI is capable of displaying the voltage-to-time values of the EIT phantom impedance sensor system.
