Abstract

This study aims to improve students' communication and collaboration skills through the application of the Think Pair Share (TPS) type cooperative learning model in class XI Mechanical Engineering students at SMK Negeri 2 Kota Serang. Communication and collaboration skills are part of the 21st century skills that are very important in preparing vocational students for the world of work. This research is a Classroom Action Research (PTK) with the Kemmis & Taggart model, which is carried out in three cycles including planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. Data were collected through observation of communication and collaboration skills indicators. Research results The results showed that students' communication skills in cycle I were in the poor category, in cycle II reached the sufficient category and in cycle III reached the good category. Meanwhile, collaboration skills also showed an increase from the less category in cycle I, to quite good in cycle II, and reached the good category in cycle III. II, and reached the good category in cycle III. These findings indicate that the TPS learning model is effective in creating an active, interactive learning environment and supporting the development of communication and collaboration skills of vocational students. Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi dan kolaborasi siswa melalui penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share (TPS) pada siswa kelas XI Teknik Pemesinan di SMK Negeri 2 Kota Serang. Keterampilan komunikasi dan kolaborasi merupakan bagian dari keterampilan abad ke-21 yang sangat penting dalam mempersiapkan siswa SMK untuk dunia kerja. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan model Kemmis & Taggart, yang dilaksanakan dalam tiga siklus meliputi tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi terhadap indikator keterampilan komunikasi dan kolaborasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan komunikasi siswa pada siklus I berada pad kategori kurang, pada siklus II mencapai kategori cukup dan pada siklus III mencapai kategori baik. Sementara itu, keterampilan kolaborasi juga menunjukkan peningkatan dari kategori kurang pada siklus I, menjadi cukup baik pada siklus II, dan mencapai kategori baik pada siklus III. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran TPS efektif dalam menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang aktif, interaktif, dan mendukung pengembangan keterampilan komunikasi serta kolaborasi siswa SMK.
