Abstract

This research examines the problem of declining employee performance at Bank Bjb Balaraja Branch, as indicated by the average performance evaluation which fell from 90.00 in 2021 to 80.05 in 2023, thus not reaching the standards set by the company. This research aims to analyze how emotional intelligence affects employee performance and how self-belief acts as an amplifying factor in the relationship. Data were collected through direct observation, face-to-face discussions, and distributing questionnaires to 97 employees. The data were analyzed using a structural equation model (SEM) with the help of the SmartPLS application. The research findings reveal that emotional intelligence has a positive and real impact on employee performance, and self-confidence is able to strengthen this influence. These results support previous research which concluded that the ability to manage emotions and confidence in one's own abilities contribute to improving employee performance.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini mengkaji masalah penurunan kinerja karyawan di Bank Bjb Cabang Balaraja, yang ditunjukkan oleh evaluasi kinerja rata-rata yang turun dari 90,00 pada 2021 menjadi 80,05 pada 2023, sehingga belum mencapai standar yang ditetapkan perusahaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis bagaimana kecerdasan emosional mempengaruhi kinerja karyawan dan bagaimana keyakinan diri berperan sebagai faktor penguat dalam hubungan tersebut. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui pengamatan langsung, diskusi tatap muka, dan penyebaran angket kepada 97 karyawan. Data dianalisis menggunakan model persamaan struktural (SEM) dengan bantuan aplikasi SmartPLS. Temuan penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa kecerdasan emosional berdampak positif dan nyata terhadap kinerja karyawan, serta keyakinan diri mampu memperkuat pengaruh tersebut. Hasil ini mendukung penelitian terdahulu yang menyimpulkan bahwa kemampuan mengelola emosi dan rasa percaya diri terhadap kemampuan sendiri berkontribusi dalam meningkatkan prestasi kerja karyawan.
