Abstract
The return of school dropouts to school is the result of efforts made by the government and the collaboration with the private sector and the community. Transformative equivalency education programs, such as the "Janji Baik" Pusat Kegiatan Belajar Masyarakat (PKBM), have enabled 92 school dropouts to return to education. This study aims to describe: (1) the motivation of school dropouts in choosing equivalency education programs as an alternative form of education; and (2) the factors that influence school dropouts in selecting the equivalency education program at PKBM Janji Baik. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques that include interviews, observation, and documentation. The primary data sources consist of 13 participants, supported by secondary data gathered from documentation, literature studies, internet sources, and social media records. Based on the findings of this study: (1) The motivation of school dropouts in choosing equivalency education programs as an alternative form of education is driven by intrinsic factors, such as the need to obtain a diploma, to become academically, socially, and skillfully competent individuals, to compensate for delayed learning experiences, and to develop an awareness of the importance of education. Extrinsic motivation includes encouragement from families, personal approaches and socialization from PKBM, as well as social support from peers and the surrounding community. (2) The factors influencing school dropouts in choosing PKBM Janji Baik as a provider of alternative educational programs include the suitability of the equivalency education program with their development, such as flexible digital learning, active promotion both online and offline, the provision of free equivalency education programs, and the availability of creative class programs

| Additional Information: | Kembalinya remaja putus sekolah ke sekolah dikarenakan adanya upaya dari pemerintah dan adanya kerja sama pihak swasta serta masyarakat. Adanya program pendidikan kesetaraan yang transformatif seperti Pusat kegiatan belajar Masyarakat (PKBM) Janji Baik dapat membantu 92 remaja putus sekolah kembali ke sekolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan: (1) Motivasi remaja putus sekolah dalam memilih program pendidikan kesetaraan sebagai pendidikan alternatif. (2) Faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi remaja putus sekolah dalam memilih program pendidikan kesetaraan di PKBM Janji Baik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Penelitian ini memiliki sumber data primer sebanyak 13 dan untuk mendukung data yang didapat penulis mengambil data sekunder melalui dokumentasi, studi literatur, situs internet, dan rekam jejak sosial media. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian bahwa: (1) Motivasi para remaja putus sekolah dalam memilih program pendidikan kesetaraan sebagai pendidikan alternatif adalah karena adanya motivasi intrinsik seperti kebutuhan untuk mendapatkan ijazah, menjadi individu yang kompeten secara akademik, keterampilan, dan sosial, membayarkan pengalaman belajar yang tertunda, dan memiliki kesadaran akan pentingnya pendidikan. Serta motivasi ekstrinsik yaitu karena adanya dorongan dari keluarga, pendekatan personal dan sosialisasi dari PKBM, dan dukungan sosial dari teman sebaya dan masyarakat terdekat. (2) Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi remaja putus sekolah dalam memilih PKBM Janji baik sebagai penyelenggara program pendidikan alternatif adalah karena melihat program pendidikan kesetaraan yang sesuai dengan perkembangannya yaitu pembelajaran digital yang fleksibel, adanya promosi yang giat dilakukan baik secara online maupun offline, memiliki program pendidikan kesetaraan gratis, dan program kelas kreasi. | |||||||||
