Abstract
This study aims to examine the influence of interpersonal communication on family harmony among working mothers. The background of this research is based on the phenomenon of dual roles carried out by working mothers, which demand a balance between professional duties and family responsibilities. The research employed a quantitative approach using a survey technique by distributing questionnaires to 100 working mothers in Cilegon City. The research instruments were tested for validity and reliability, and the data were analyzed using simple linear regression, Spearman’s rho correlation, and the coefficient of determination. The results indicate a positive and significant influence between interpersonal communication and family harmony. The simple linear regression value was 0.873 with a significance level of < 0.001, the correlation coefficient was 0.823, and the coefficient of determination (R²) was 0.739. This means that interpersonal communication contributes 73.9% to family harmony among working mothers. These findings suggest that the better the quality of interpersonal communication within the family, the higher the level of harmony perceived. This research emphasizes the importance of open, empathetic, supportive, positive, and equal communication as the foundation for creating a harmonious family.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh komunikasi interpersonal terhadap keharmonisan keluarga pada ibu yang bekerja. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasarkan pada fenomena peran ganda yang dijalani oleh ibu bekerja, yang menuntut keseimbangan antara pekerjaan dan tanggung jawab keluarga. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan teknik survei melalui penyebaran kuesioner kepada 100 responden ibu bekerja di Kota Cilegon. Instrumen penelitian diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya serta dianalisis menggunakan uji regresi linear sederhana, korelasi Spearman’s rho, dan koefisien determinasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh positif dan signifikan antara komunikasi interpersonal dan keharmonisan keluarga. Nilai regresi linear sederhana sebesar 0,873 dengan signifikansi < 0,001, nilai korelasi sebesar 0,823, dan koefisien determinasi (R²) sebesar 0,739. Artinya, komunikasi interpersonal memberikan kontribusi sebesar 73,9% terhadap keharmonisan keluarga pada ibu yang bekerja. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa semakin baik kualitas komunikasi interpersonal dalam keluarga, maka semakin tinggi tingkat keharmonisan yang dirasakan. Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya komunikasi yang terbuka, empatik, saling mendukung, positif, dan setara sebagai dasar terciptanya keluarga yang harmonis. | ||||||
