Abstract

Research using the PMG (Pooled Mean Group) analysis model or ARDL panel aims to analyze the long-term and short-term effects of BI Rate, Statutory Reserves, Bank Size, Return on Asset, Inflation, and Gross Domestic Product on conventional commercial bank competition in Indonesia from 2010 to 2023. The variable used to measure the level of competition of commercial banks in Indonesia is the Lerner Index. The results of the research analysis showed that in the long term, the variables of BI Rate, Statutory Reserves, Bank Size, Inflation and GDP had an effect on bank competition. However, there is no significant influence between ROA on bank competition. In the short term, the variables of BI Rate, Reserve Requirement, Bank Size, Inflation and GDP affect bank competition, but ROA has no effect on bank competition. The results of this study indicate that monetary policy instruments, both through BI Rate and Statutory Reserves have a real influence on bank competition.
