Abstract

This research was motivated by the lack of BK Teacher personnel in MAN 1 Serang City and the many problems of students at school. Thus, counseling guidance teachers in schools are directed to the target of each individual student. This means that there is an effort to develop what is in each student. This is in line with the Social Penetration Theory put forward by Altman and Taylor explaining that human personality is analogous to an onion that has several layers. This study aims to find out whether there is an influence of credibility and interpersonal communication methods of BK teachers on students' learning motivation in improving academic achievement. This study uses a descriptive analysis method using a quantitative approach. The sample technique used was stratified random sampling technique with a sample of 279 respondents. The results of the study showed that the significance value of variables X1 (credibility) and X2 (interpersonal communication method) to the Z variable (motivation) was 0.000 < 0.005, so it was concluded that variables X1 and X2 had a significant effect on the Z variable, which means that the credibility and interpersonal communication methods of BK teachers had an effect on students' learning motivation. It is known that the significance values of variables X1 (credibility) and X2 (interpersonal communication methods) on Y (student academic achievement) are 0.027 < 0.005, and 0.000 < 0.005, so it is concluded that variables X1 and X2 have a significant effect on variable Y. It is known that the significance value of the Z variable (Motivation) to the Y variable (academic achievement) is 0.000 < 0.005, so it is concluded that student learning motivation has a significant effect on academic achievement. It is known that the variables X1 and X2 through the Z variable to Y are 30.186 > 3.03, and 61.908 > 3.03, so it can be concluded that indirectly the credibility and interpersonal communication method of BK teachers through motivation have a significant effect on academic achievement.
