Abstract
Fever is a condition characterized by an increase in body temperature as a physiological response to infection or inflammation, which, if not treated promptly, can lead to complications such as seizures and dehydration. One common method for managing fever is cold compress therapy; however, its effectiveness remains limited because the cold temperature cannot be precisely regulated and tends to dissipate quickly. This study developed a fever compress device based on a Peltier module, which is capable of regulating the cooling temperature in a controlled and stable manner. The device was tested using two methods: the unloaded method (not applied to a human subject) and the loaded method (applied to a human body), with five different temperature set points, namely 25°C, 24°C, 23°C, 22°C, and 21°C. Each test was conducted for 60 minutes to analyze temperature changes and heat absorption capacity. The test results showed that in the loaded method, the waterblock temperature tended to be higher compared to the unloaded method, indicating the occurrence of heat transfer from the human body to the device. Based on calculations, the highest heat absorption from the human body occurred at 25°C, amounting to 137.61 W, while the lowest was at 24°C with 102.08 W. This pattern indicates that the compress device can consistently absorb heat across all temperature settings, although there is a slight decrease in efficiency at lower temperatures.

Additional Information: | Demam merupakan kondisi meningkatnya suhu tubuh sebagai respons fisiologis terhadap infeksi atau peradangan, yang jika tidak segera ditangani dapat menimbulkan komplikasi seperti kejang dan dehidrasi. Salah satu metode penanganan demam yang umum digunakan adalah kompres dingin, namun efektivitasnya masih terbatas karena suhu dingin yang dihasilkan tidak dapat diatur secara presisi dan tidak bertahan lama. Dalam penelitian ini dikembangkan alat kompres demam berbasis modul Peltier yang mampu mengatur suhu pendinginan secara terkontrol dan stabil. Alat ini diuji menggunakan dua metode, yaitu metode tanpa beban (tidak digunakan pada manusia) dan metode dengan beban (digunakan pada tubuh manusia), dengan lima variasi suhu set point yaitu 25°C, 24°C, 23°C, 22°C, dan 21°C. Setiap pengujian dilakukan selama 60 menit untuk menganalisis perubahan suhu dan daya serap kalor yang terjadi. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa pada metode dengan beban, suhu waterblock cenderung lebih tinggi dibanding metode tanpa beban, yang mengindikasikan terjadinya proses transfer panas dari tubuh ke alat. Dari hasil perhitungan, daya serap kalor tertinggi dari tubuh manusia terjadi pada suhu 25°C, yaitu sebesar 137,61 W, sementara daya serap kalor terendah terjadi pada suhu 24°C sebesar 102,08 W. Pola ini menunjukkan bahwa alat kompres mampu menyerap kalor secara konsisten di seluruh pengaturan suhu, meskipun terdapat sedikit penurunan efisiensi pada suhu yang lebih rendah. | |||||||||
