Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the extent of influence of democratic leadership style and work environment on the performance of employees of the Pandeglang District Health Office. This study used an associative method with a quantitative approach. The sampling technique used was Proportionate Random Sampling, which is a method that groups the population based on certain characteristics (strata), then takes random samples from each group proportionally according to the number. Data were collected through the distribution of questionnaires, printed, and distributed to all employees in the agency. Furthermore, the collected data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis with the help of SPSS software version 29. The aim was to determine the extent of influence of the independent variables on the dependent variable. Based on the results of the analysis, it is known that democratic leadership style (X1) only has an effect of 0.062 or 6.2% on employee performance (Y), which means the effect is not significant. In contrast, the work environment variable (X2) has a greater effect, namely 0.429 or 42.9%, which indicates a partial significant effect on employee performance (Y). Overall, these two variables simultaneously contributed 0.512, or 51.2%, to improving employee performance. Thus, democratic leadership style and work environment equally influence employee performance at the Pandeglang Regency Health Office.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh gaya kepemimpinan demokratis dan lingkungan kerja terhadap kinerja pegawai Dinas Kesehatan Kabupaten Pandeglang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode asosiatif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah Proportionate Random Sampling, yakni metode yang mengelompokkan populasi berdasarkan karakteristik tertentu (strata), lalu mengambil sampel secara acak dari masing-masing kelompok tersebut secara proporsional sesuai dengan jumlahnya. Data dikumpulkan melalui penyebaran kuesioner cetak yang dibagikan kepada seluruh pegawai di instansi tersebut. Selanjutnya, data yang terkumpul dianalisis menggunakan analisis regresi linier berganda dengan bantuan perangkat lunak SPSS versi 29. Tujuannya adalah untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh variabel bebas terhadap variabel terikat. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, diketahui bahwa gaya kepemimpinan demokratis (X1) hanya memberikan pengaruh sebesar 0,062 atau 6,2% terhadap kinerja pegawai (Y), yang berarti pengaruh tersebut tidak signifikan. Sebaliknya, variabel lingkungan kerja (X2) memberikan pengaruh yang lebih besar, yaitu 0,429 atau 42,9%, yang menunjukkan adanya pengaruh signifikan secara parsial terhadap kinerja pegawai (Y). Secara keseluruhan, kedua variabel tersebut secara simultan memberikan kontribusi sebesar 0,512 atau 51,2% terhadap peningkatan kinerja pegawai. Dengan demikian, bahwa gaya kepemimpinan demokratis dan lingkungan kerja secara bersama-sama memengaruhi kinerja pegawai Dinas Kesehatan Kabupaten Pandeglang.
