Abstract
This research aims to describe the community empowerment process, management conditions, and strategies to strengthen community-based waste management in RW01 Lopang Village, Serang District, Serang City. Waste management problems in this area previously triggered social conflicts and environmental pollution due to the habit of littering. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this research shows how the Paguyuban Pemuda Literasi Global (PPLG) Waste Bank helps empower the community to manage household waste through programs like raising maggots, making compost, and a gold savings plan from recycling inorganic waste. The results showed that community involvement increased gradually, although there were still obstacles such as fluctuating participation and limited funds. The Paguyuban Pemuda Literasi Global (PPLG) Waste Bank implements strengthening strategies through socialization, technical training, local partnerships, and environmental awards to foster behavioral changes in the community. This research concludes that community-based waste management can be an effective solution in creating a clean environment while increasing the socio-economic capacity of residents.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses pemberdayaan masyarakat, kondisi pengelolaan, serta strategi penguatan tata kelola sampah berbasis masyarakat di RW01 Kelurahan Lopang, Kecamatan Serang, Kota Serang. Permasalahan pengelolaan sampah di wilayah ini sebelumnya memicu konflik sosial dan pencemaran lingkungan akibat kebiasaan membuang sampah sembarangan. Melalui pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, penelitian ini mengungkap peran Bank Sampah Paguyuban Pemuda Literasi Global (PPLG) sebagai bentuk pemberdayaan masyarakat dalam pengelolaan sampah rumah tangga, dengan berbagai program seperti budidaya maggot, pembuatan pupuk kompos, dan sistem tabungan emas dari hasil daur ulang sampah anorganik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterlibatan masyarakat meningkat secara bertahap, meskipun masih terdapat kendala seperti partisipasi yang fluktuatif dan keterbatasan dana. Strategi penguatan dilakukan melalui sosialisasi, pelatihan teknis, kemitraan lokal, serta penghargaan lingkungan yang mendorong perubahan perilaku masyarakat. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa tata kelola sampah berbasis masyarakat dapat menjadi solusi efektif dalam menciptakan lingkungan bersih sekaligus meningkatkan kapasitas sosial ekonomi warga. | |||||||||
