Abstract
The objective of this research was to focused on the implementation of the Running Dictation technique in improving students' vocabulary and reading comprehension at the seventh grade of SMP Islam Daruqutni Kabupaten Tangerang. Vocabulary and reading comprehension are the basic skills in EFL. It should be mastered by students in order to make them are easier to communicate with each other. Running Dictation technique is an interesting ways in teaching learning English, especially in vocabulary and reading comprehension. It makes students fun and enjoys receiving the material. The research methodology in this research was Classroom Action Research (CAR). There were two cycles in this research with the pre-test before treatment. This research was conducted in the seventh grade of SMP Islam Daruqutni Kabupaten Tangerang, with a total of 22 students that consisted of 13 girls and 9 boys. In collecting the data, there were pre-test, post-test 1, and post-test 2. After giving the action, the researcher analyzed the data of research by using tests and observation helped by the observer. From the result, it was obtained that there was an improvement of students' vocabulary and reading comprehension. It can be seen by the score of each cycle. In pre-test it was obtained 60%. and the post-test 1 it was obtained 70%. In post-test 2, it was obtained 75%. Based on this result, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Running Dictation technique can improve the student's vocabulary and reading comprehension at the seventh grade of SMP Islam Daruqutni Kabupaten Tangerang.

| Additional Information: | Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk fokus pada penerapan teknik Running Dictation dalam meningkatkan kosakata dan pemahaman bacaan siswa di kelas tujuh SMP Islam Daruqutni Kabupaten Tangerang. Kosakata dan pemahaman bacaan adalah keterampilan dasar dalam EFL. Itu harus dikuasai oleh siswa agar mereka lebih mudah berkomunikasi satu sama lain. Teknik Running Dictation adalah cara yang menarik dalam mengajar Bahasa Inggris, terutama dalam kosakata dan pemahaman bacaan. Itu membuat siswa senang dan menikmati menerima materi. Metodologi penelitian dalam penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Ada dua siklus dalam penelitian ini dengan pre-test sebelum treatment. Penelitian ini dilakukan di kelas tujuh SMP Islam Daruqutni Kabupaten Tangerang, dengan total 22 siswa yang terdiri dari 13 perempuan dan 9 laki-laki. Dalam pengumpulan data, ada pre-test, post-test 1, dan post-test 2. Setelah memberikan tindakan, peneliti menganalisis data penelitian dengan menggunakan tes dan observasi yang dibantu oleh pengamat. Dari hasil tersebut, diperoleh peningkatan kosakata dan pemahaman bacaan siswa. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari skor setiap siklus. Pada pra-tes diperoleh 60%. dan pasca-tes 1 diperoleh 70%. Pada pasca-tes 2 diperoleh 75%. Berdasarkan hasil ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan teknik Running Dictation dapat meningkatkan kosakata dan pemahaman bacaan siswa di kelas tujuh SMP Islam Daruqutni Kabupaten Tangerang. | |||||||||
