Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of using Lumio By SMART learning media on the critical thinking skills of class XI students in the History subject at SMA Negeri 6 Serang City. The method used in this research is a quantitative method with a pre-experimental design, namely one group pretest-posttest design, which consists of stages: giving a pretest, treatment, and posttest. The research results showed that students critical thinking skills experienced a significant increase after learning using Lumio By SMART media. This is proven by the average pretest score of 40.11 which increased to 66.94 in the posttest, as well as a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05 through the paired t-test, which means H₀ is rejected and Hₐ is accepted. Lumio By SMART media makes a positive contribution to improving students' critical thinking skills through interactive features such as real-time collaboration, digital simulations, and access to various learning resources that support active learning processes. However, in its implementation, this research has limitations, such as technical problems in initial login, unstable internet network, limited supporting devices, and the use of the free version of Lumio which limits features and storage. Nevertheless, this learning media can still be recommended as an innovative alternative in the history learning process.

Additional Information: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media pembelajaran Lumio By SMART terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa kelas XI pada mata pelajaran sejarah di SMA Negeri 6 Kota Serang. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif dengan desain pre-eksperimental, yaitu one group pretest-posttest design, yang terdiri dari tahap-tahap: pemberian pretest, perlakuan, dan posttest. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan setelah pembelajaran menggunakan media Lumio By SMART. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan rata-rata skor pretest sebesar 40,11 yang meningkat menjadi 66,94 pada posttest, serta nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 < 0,05 melalui uji paired t-test, yang berarti H₀ ditolak dan Hₐ diterima. Media Lumio By SMART memberikan kontribusi positif terhadap peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa melalui fitur-fitur interaktif seperti kolaborasi real-time, simulasi digital, dan akses ke berbagai sumber belajar yang mendukung proses pembelajaran aktif. Namun, dalam pelaksanaannya, penelitian ini memiliki keterbatasan, seperti kendala teknis dalam login awal, jaringan internet yang tidak stabil, keterbatasan perangkat penunjang, serta penggunaan versi gratis Lumio yang membatasi fitur dan penyimpanan. Meskipun demikian, media pembelajaran ini tetap dapat direkomendasikan sebagai alternatif inovatif dalam proses pembelajaran sejarah.
