Abstract

Stress is the body's nonspecific physiological response to any form of demand or threat. Stress in medical students can be triggered by study hours, exams, time factors, schedules, learning systems, and other relevant factors. Stress in medical students can be triggered by study hours, exams, time factors, schedules, learning systems, and other relevant factors.. Glucocorticoids will be released during stress which plays a role in activating lipoprotein lipase in adipose tissue, thus increasing fat deposits. Glucocorticoids will also stimulate hunger and eating behavior which can lead to an increase in body fat percentage. This study used a cross-sectional analytic observational design. The sampling technique of this study was stratified random sampling with a total sample of 98 people. Data on respondent characteristics and stress levels were obtained through distributing questionnaire links to students of the Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University Medical Study Program through Google Form. Body fat percentage data was obtained through measurement using Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA). Most students experience moderate stress (52%). Students who have a high body fat percentage are 52 people (53.1%). In this study, there was no significant relationship between body fat percentage with age, gender, class, GPA, exercise time, and diet. Students with moderate-heavy stress levels have a risk of 3.87 times having a high body fat percentage. There is a relationship between stress level and body fat percentage in Medical Students Program of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University.

Mahasiswa paling banyak mengalami stres sedang (52%).
