Abstract
Lokasi di Jl. Raya Sobang, Ciamis, Kec. Sobang, Pandeglang, Banten merupakan lokasi yang diteliti dalam penelitian ini. Hasil penguujian Dynamic Cone Penetrometer menunjukkan bahwa nilai daya dukung tanah di lokasi ini cukup rendah, yaitu 2,25%. Sangat penting untuk diingat bahwa tanah dasar (Subgrade) yang baik harus memiliki nilai CBR minimal 6%. Penggunaan karet ban bekas sangat baik untuk menstabilkan tanah dan dimanfaatkan sebagai reinforcement tanah timbunan sebagai usaha perbaikan tanah. Dapat juga menambah daya dukung tanah terhadap Nilai California Bearing Ratio. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji pengaruh penambahan serbuk karet ban terhadap nilai CBR Unsoaked dengan persentase 3%, 5%, 7%, dan 10% dan dilakukan pemeraman 0,3,7 hari. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian sampel tanah diklasifikasikan sebagai kelas OH (Tanah lempung organik berplastisitas tinggi). Terjadinya penurunan nilai IP dari 18% menjadi 6,2% dan peningkatan nilai CBR Unsoaked menjadi 17,65% dengan persentase optimum pada 5% penambahan serbuk karet ban dengan lama pemeraman 3 hari.
