Abstract
This paper aims to provide an overview of the resistance of Kampung Bayam residents in fighting for housing rights. Where they lost their living space due to the construction of the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS). The JIS development has resulted in land conversion, forced displacement, and deprivation of residents' livelihoods, causing significant economic, social, and legal problems. This study employs a qualitative methodology, utilising in-depth interviews and observations to examine residents' resistance strategies through the theoretical framework of James C. Scott's theoretical framework, which distinguishes between overt resistance and covert resistance. The study findings show that the people of Kampung Bayam are actively resisting through various means, including occupying Kampung Susun Bayam, filing complaints to official authorities, and engaging in autonomous and discreet survival strategies. This research underscores the importance of development rooted in participation and social justice, along with the need to recognise citizens' rights to space and a dignified existence in urban environments.

| Additional Information: | Tulisan ini bertujuan memberikan Gambaran tentang resistensi warga Kampung Bayam dalam memperjuangkan hak tempat tinggal. Dimana mereka kehilangan ruang hidup akibat Pembangunan Jakarta International Stadium (JIS). Pembangunan JIS telah mengakibatkan alih fungsi lahan, pemindahan paksa, dan perampasan mata pencaharian penduduk, yang menyebabkan masalah ekonomi, sosial, dan hukum yang signifikan. Studi ini menggunakan metodologi kualitatif, memanfaatkan wawancara mendalam dan observasi untuk mengkaji strategi perlawanan penduduk melalui kerangka teori James C. Scott, yang membedakan antara perlawanan terbuka dan perlawanan tertutup. Temuan studi menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat Kampung Bayam secara aktif melakukan perlawanan melalui berbagai cara, termasuk menduduki Kampung Susun Bayam, mengajukan keluhan kepada otoritas resmi, dan terlibat dalam strategi bertahan hidup yang otonom dan bijaksana. Penelitian ini menggarisbawahi pentingnya pembangunan yang berakar pada partisipasi dan keadilan sosial, seiring dengan perlunya mengakui hak warga negara atas ruang dan keberadaan yang bermartabat di lingkungan perkotaan. | ||||||
